Up Next: Bill

Our old friend Kyle Orton is returning to Denver this week! I know you are all as excited to see him as I am!:yahoo:

The Bills bring a pretty ferocious defense into this one, with one of the better pass rushes in the game. They don't give up a lot of points, either. Offensively, they are nothing spectacular, though somehow seem to be holding it together. They are a little banged up as well on offense, and we all know Orton cannot escape a pass rush.

I hope to see Del Rio stick to what worked so effectively against the Chiefs. That defense looked awesome in KC. I think that was what we were expecting all off season. I'd like to see more of that. An effort like that will keep the Bills points totals low, which is important due to their defense.

I'm usually way off on my scores, but I see another ground heavy attack by the Broncos and a relatively mild scoring day. Something to the tune of 27-10 Broncos.

Your thoughts?

PS: It should say "Bills" not "Bill." The Broncos are playing the Buffalo "Bills" not some random dude named "Bill."

I just hope it's extra cold. Gives us a chance to stay in it for three quarters.

So going to post this here as this might be the last time I will ever get to use this video. Enjoy Bronco and Bills fans...If you are wondering what it is the video is a spoof of Kyle Orton leaving Denver when Tim Tebow took over.

By the way Bills fans what the heck is a "Bills?" Always wondered but not enough I guess to go look it up myself.

Anyway I agree Iknowftbl I am hoping the defense just keeps flying around like they were and we have once again a very aggressive game plan. I'll be very interested to see what happens with the injury news today as I have heard Watkins and Dareus are both limping around a bit with some hip injuries. I would say if Watkins is bothered by a hip injury that gives us that much more reason to attack like crazy as the deep threat is a little more limited.

Also good news injury front for the Broncos is Talib said yesterday that he should be a full participant this week in practice so I would expect him back. I was glad the Broncos ended up sitting him this past week. The Chiefs probably have one of the worst WR groups in the NFL so Talib was not needed. I would rather his hamstring have as much time to heal up as possible. Those injuries are the worst in my opinion as they can start feeling good even after just a few days depending on the severity but it doesn't take much to irritate them again.

Offensively I'm hoping we again go with the run but hoping the passing game can get a little more on track. I know the wind was an issue in KC but Manning just looked off. Really for the past month or so he has been just a bit off so I would love to see him really have one of those clean games.

Also offensively the big thing will be finishing drives. 5 trips to the red zone without a touchdown is just unheard of in a Manning lead offense.

LOL Other than that we play the Bills and not Bill, I totally agree.

Buffalo still has a shot to win its division and features one of the better defenses in the league. Stiff challenge for our o-line. Good news, of course, is that that unit looks intent recently on becoming a strength of our team. Keep proving yourselves, fellas!

A pass rush like we had at KC ought to make Kyle Orton live up to my son's nickname for him. That is, The Knock Out could get knocked out.

Big game. Go Broncos!

I actually don't think I can change the title with my moderator powers. I think one of the main moderators has to be able to do that. Now if someone wanted to create another post with that name then I could merge the two into 1 and I think that would be the title.

The thing I see as most troubling with Manning is those easy throws he`s missing. Throwing at the feet or behind wide open wrs on the shorter routes with limited pressure on him. He seems uncomfortable or something. :noidea:

I think the OL being mixed up so much this year has given him some happy feet. I'm hoping since we seem to have established the group we want moving forward that will improve as the season progresses and he will be back into fine form by the time the playoffs start. It is tough when you are not sure if the guys in front of you actually are going to block the people that you see coming and that you wonder if you need to get rid of the football in a hurry. So again I think the more consistency and more comfort he finds behind this group the better his throws will get.

Right now I will give him a pass for the Chiefs game as that wind was crazy and you could tell it was affecting both quarterbacks as neither could pass.

Missing Julius Thomas hasn't helped, either. With that said, if he's not 100% then I'd rather see him sit this week and be ready to go next week against the Chargers. Keeping key components healthy at this time of year is vital. We've had a relatively good year, healthwise. Especially compared to last year. I'd really like to see a healthy team come playoff time.

Makes room for a sequel if on the odd chance the two teams meet again in the playoffs...:suds:

It would be great to have the sequel but unfortunately I think their playoff chances die if we beat them. I mean they have us, Green Bay, and New England all still on their schedule. Talk about the scheduling guys not liking a team I would say the Bills are right up there of having these 3 teams to finish out the season. I guess they were nice to throw in the Raiders the 2nd to last game of the season but otherwise these guys might have the toughest remaining schedule. So as cool as act 2 would be consider me a skeptic in that actually happening.

Now what I would love to see though speaking of the AFC East is for the Patriots to lose this weekend (obviously always nice to see them lose) but then have to compete even for the division itself if that happens the following week against Miami who will be fighting for their playoff lives. Obviously that is a pipe dream but this is usually when San Diego actually decides to play good football. How they do it every year of dig themselves a hole that looks like they can't crawl out of to only emerge the final week of the season.

You could tell in this past game his abilities being missed as our Red Zone offense has not been the same without him. I'm going to be very interested to see what the coaches decide to do once J. Thomas and Green are both healthy at the same time. Should be a nightmare for teams to try and gameplan around.

No doubt that we miss JT's receiving skills, particularly in red zone and long third downs. Love what Green brings in the running game, however. Seems to me that the coaching staff faces a challenge -- but a good one -- of how to best use the two.

With some of Manning's throws it looks like he is intentionally off the mark. Maybe he has been chucking some with the thought that only my guy will have a chance at them. A pass to Caldwell looked like he intentionally went low with it but that is my speculation. Also, after two near picks broken up by Sanders I think Manning had a little more incentive.

I like the run game we have. If Manning can get his issues worked out we could have a powerful offense.

What I see happening when JT returns is he will take all of Tamme's snaps. That is about 25 snaps at this time. Then Welker has been in on about 57 snaps a game since JT went down. JT will probably take a few of those from him when we run out of 2-TE sets. Finally JT will probably take all of Green's snaps when they are for sure going to pass such as on 3rd and long which is about 10 snaps a game. So that would get JT in about half the snaps of the offensive game plan. This allows his leg to keep healing up without overstressing it too quickly while still allowing for him to make an impact on the game. This also allows us to continue with our run blocking schemes.

My biggest fear though with JT returning is that we will stop doing our 2-TE sets with Cornick coming in as a TE. Honestly I think this has been our most effective set up for the offense over the last 2 games. Teams just get ran over and as soon as they start creeping up Manning just goes over the top to one of his receivers that both run around a 4.3 forty. So again I am hoping that they do not stop using this scheme any time soon as it really does seem to confuse teams when we do this plus gives us the best blocking possibilities for Manning when we do decide to pass. Nothing like having 7 OL players trying to block for your quarterback.

Agreed. The Bills d-line might be the best in the league. The challenge of handling that unit might shed light on how best to go forward offensively.
