How he has survived this long shows he has some type of mind power over people. Truly a special talent.
Here he blames the players, and not himself for why we did not stop the Vikes.

“It wasn’t necessarily what we were doing, it was how we were doing it,” Haslett said. “We weren’t very good on third downs on those three drives.”

Really Jim?! So it wasn't your fault in other words. Oh, we get it thanks.
In a sad note the Cardinals inked Todd Bowles to an extension, and we still have this clown.

Murphy missed a sack that would of put the Vikings in a 3rd in 20 on their last drive. I think he was talking about that.

That's exactly how I read it. He says his play calling didn't change but the players stopped executing properly.

He has got to go!

Unless of course he is actually being truthful, in which case we could get ride of the coach and have similar results. Just tossin it out there.

Maybe. But look what he said. His young CBs missed assignments. They are struggling with zone reads. so until they pick them up, why call for such coverage as much as he did. Against Dallas, they were in Man to man most of the night. What Haz said was that he wanted to use zone so as to confuse the rookie QB. But all he did was confuse our rookie (and second year) CBs. Brilliant.

both these young guys play man very well. let them do it. do not try and out smart the other rookie QB and screw your own guys in the process. Thats what he did.

Completely Agree with JY and Dad. Plus if he wanted to, haslett could have tried to disguise things. If blitzing made him nervous for some reason, why not show some more of the things we did vs Dallas and back out of them. At the least you force the rookie into changing things up.

No....no...no...you guys have got it all wrong about Haslett. The man is an absolute genius!! Just because you don't get it, just proves that he's right and you're wrong. His game planning is beyond your understanding..I tell ya!...yeah that's it.....way beyond your understanding! No wait, see it's like this the players don't play like he wants them too, no that's not quite it. Ok, OK, it's not just that the players don't understand, it's everybody, and they're conspiring against......No hold it! Haslet calls the plays and the fans boo because the players get the call but not exactly the one that Haslet meant...see? he's a genius....a genius I tell ya.......a Genius!!!

Please. What possible defense of Haslett's performance can you actually be touting? He's been here 4.5 years, the results are consistent, even with experienced corners.

JY points out the flaw in your logic. Haslett called the perfect defense to stifle Tony Romo, then called the perfect defense to let the rookie Teddy B get his best game of the year going vs us. Any coach who publicly blames his players for not executing his perfectly called scheme, is a jackass.

Would this be a good time to re-state Haslett's career track record, of taking over solid defenses with new teams and immediately and consistently turning them into much worse defenses? He did it in Pittsburgh, New Orleans, St Louis and now in DC, where he took Greg Blache's decent defenses and made them bad.

The track record is stunning. He's the Anti Midas.

Holy crap! I had no idea it was that bad. How did this guy get another DC job? Oh, wait, no one else would come to work in this circus led by the ultimate circus master, Danny boy.

There's a reason why he was plucked from the Florida Tuckers by another guy who was out of the NFL at the time. What is hard to understand is why Jay or Bruce thought it was a good idea to keep him in the NFL?:noidea:
