I think Emory has put together more talent then any other GM we have had in 25 years. He has missed a few too. I think were a top 5 talent offensively, and around 20 defensively.

Here, I'll help with this thread:

Kyle Long
Jonathan Bostic
Khassem Greene

Cornelius Washington
Marquess Wilson

Too early (for me) to rate the 2014 class, except for Kyle Fuller. The other classes have a couple gems, but the rest of the lot, not exactly impressive.

Talent-wise, they are up there.
Unfortunately, they lead the league in SQUANDERED talent.

That's my take on the drafts listed. I really like this last draft class. Like pointed out on another board I frequent. It is the fact we have zero decent players left over from the Jerry Angelo years that is hurting this team. Williams and Carimi should be book ends, Wright should be starting FS, The second round pool jumping outer guy should be starting at DT etc... We have entire vetern classes completely missing from the Bears. That is another thing that is killing this team.
It takes three years to fairly evaluate a draft class, but Emery's first class looks largely like a dud — Jeffrey is the only contributor (and a good one). Here, I'll help with this thread:

I like your optimism, but I think you're being way too generous.
I see Ego Ferguson as a possible starter, but Will Sutton as just a part of the rotation....which is good, but not a starter.
I don't see Kadeem Carey as anything but a back-up. If he becomes our starter, then we are in trouble at running back. Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad back-up, but he's a back-up.
Pat O'Donnell is not impressing me up to this point. I would not at all be surprised if we have a different punter next year.
Charles Leno a possible starter? How can you say he is a possible future starter when he hasn't even seen the field yet? Possible starter? I don't think so.
Jonathan Bostic.....I think you're right, he is a future starter. But how good is he? I've been disappointed so far. Is there hope for him? I hope so, but the longer he's out on the field looking clueless, the more concerned I am.
Marquess Wilson - I think you're right, there is a possibility he may contribute, but to this point, he's only seen the field for a handful of plays. I hope he comes back and shows us something special.
For certain Phil Emery has found some gems in Kyle Fuller, Kyle Long, Alshon Jeffery, and Jordan Mills. We'll have to keep an eye on Ego Ferguson, Will Sutton, Brock Vereen, Jonathan Bostic, and Marquess Wilson before we can truly evaluate Phil Emery.

That's where I am beginning to think Emery has let this team down, picking coaches.
I wasn't very high on Jones in the 2012 draft for the Bears, particularly in light of Lovie Smith's track record for developing project players. But I'm pretty sure what Emery was thinking is that Jones wasn't a finished product (he had the physical ability to be what he's become, but then so did Jarron Gilbert), and Jones didn't appear to fit Smith's defense very well.
