It wouldn't surprise me to find out that this story is more or less accurate. It seems that Percy Harvin is a malcontent who has problems with authority. I am certain he would much prefer that his QB be on his "side" in disputes. And I'm sure that some of the guys from the hood might even sympathize with him a little.

But when it's all said and done, none of them are going to lose their high paying jobs for it and Percy Harvin can find some other reason to hate his new QB.

Me & Russell have a lot in common.

1) share the same birthday
2) both been accused of not being black enough

I don't understand this whole thing but when I take one look at Kaepernick or Wilson it's not a case of "not black enough" but "not black at all." And it seems a complete non-issue with Wilson (respect to him for ignoring this nonsense) but I get the overwhelming sense that Kaepernick is virtually BEGGING for black street cred and to be something he's really not; a black man. He looks more like a Jim Henson character than a black man.

I love it when a super bowl champ is put under the media microscope the year after, the crap people are willing to talk about....

While I am not black, I am Latino and do understand the underlying issue somewhat. When someone is successful, if they have assimilated and been accepted in "white" society, some people's reaction is that they sold out or betrayed their culture. There are actual cases where this criticism is legit, and you have some House Negroes or "Taco Bell" MFers who actually try to hide their ethnic origins, shun their own people and seek to distance themselves from them in a prejudiced way.

Wilson has been getting some of this flak for a while in a quiet way, after SI did a profile of his "Entourage" style circle of friends, who are all white kids from the burbs where he grew up. But....that is where he is from. Who do you expect him to hang out with but the kids from his old neighborhood? It's like the TV show "Blackish" but in real life.

Pretty sure I'm not black enough. If I was I would have better rhythm. Would it have killed my ancestors to sleep with a black person now and then.

In all honesty, I think this story is probably made up.

First off, never knew you were Latino. Figured I would I learned that after the last decade of talking with you.

Anyway, I think these two paragraph really speak to the issue. I think there are a lot of folks that come from the hood that have very little respect for people from the hood who pretend to be something they aren't. However they can sometimes confuse folks that grew up in very different neighborhoods as being similar fakes.

and what would it matter if it were true ? unless you fans dont think he is black enough

It apparently matters a lot in the black community and I'm just not sure if there's an equivalent in any other demographic.

Whether we're talking about Will Smith('s television character) on Carlton Banks, Jalen Rose on Grant Hill, or Rob Parker on RG3, it clearly matters.

It's on the biglead.com if you want to Google it. Apparently Harvin was a key guy in this movement, and that's why he's gone. Apparently Lynch was on Harvin's side. Crazy stuff.

Harvin is gone because he is a locker room cancer. Hell, he got into a fist fight with teammates right before the super bowl for christ sake. He is a grade A douchebag and Seattle is better off without him.

If you can't get behind a guy like Russell Wilson, there is something inherently wrong with you.

There was a lot of thuggery on the 2008 Florida football team.

If this is truly the reason for the trade the fuck Harvin.
If he gives a crap about football he already got his punishment. He is going to one of the worst teams in the league with possibly the worst QB. Geno Smith is a horrible QB, but at least he is "black enough" for Percy "The Racist" Harvin.

Now let's at another angle:

Comes out that Percy got into with Tate at the Super Bowl, now Tate is released after the season, rumors are flying around that Tate and Wilson's wife had a fling, what if Percy was getting in Tate's face about that???
