Yep.. but I'd be shocked if there's a true lead back in Denver w/o Ball. But anyone getting a handful of touches in that offense now that they've gone back to wide open is worth it

Yea, everyone except Ball seems to do well there. ... sorry, I have him in 2 leagues and have been very disappointed in him - to this point a wasted draft pick.

Honestly, I would be willing to bet that Anderson gets the bulk of the work.

2 years ago, when Mcgahee went down, everyone assumed that Moreno was out of the mix because he had been inactive the game before. Thing is, Moreno was best suited to be the workhorse, but the Broncos had him inactive because they had a change of pace guy and a return guy. While it looked like Moreno was 4th on the depth chart, he was really second.

Given Hillman's skill set, I am betting that Anderson will be next in line, like Moreno was before. Unless the Broncos say something to the contrary, Anderson is the guy I am adding.

:agree:

This is gonna be at least the 2nd time Hillman is the WW darling of the week in his career...........last time was a disaster as he was passed by...........I'd say he's worth the add just in case but I think T hit it on the head.

Yeah I know. . But he also wasnt afforded more than 4 touches. .2 carries and 2 well covered swing passes. .. In the only game they played this year using last year's offense either. .I still say given that situation he'd have been an absolute stud. . Hopefully he's only out a couple weeks

I wouldn't waste my time on Hillman. He had his chance everyone was all over him. If you are in a 16 team league with huge benches I would take a stash and see approach. But I expect nothing from him at this point.

I don't think Hillman is worth an add. I don't like adding players that I don't see having much potential to ever start for your fantasy team.

The way I see it, Hillman is a small framed speed back. Manning and the Broncos are a pass first team, and manning likes RBs that block. Hillman, I just don't see him being able to do so. And then he is too small to be a goal line back. So when will they ever want to use him?? I would be surprised if he plays over 40% of the offensive snaps.

CJ anderson might be 2 inches shorter but he is 30 pounds heavier. I know nothing about him, but he should be a better blocker than Hillman

Well, early reports are 2-3 weeks for Ball.. so none of the Denver replacement backs will be worth it for very dammed long. Don't drop anyone worth anything to get em.

Treff hopefully you are right but the injury didn't occur until week 5. He did very little in the first 4 weeks. Yes, it was a tough schedule and maybe the offensive scheme wasn't what it was last year - - but a first rd pick should be pretty much matchup & scheme proof. .... he was not. Plus, he was seen arguing with Peyton a couple of plays before he went down - not a wise thing to do if you want to be on the field with him.

Might be crazy, but how about Broncos trade a 3rd round pick to Jacksonville for Toby Gerhart

When the basis behind making him a first round pick was so heavily based on scheme. . Yeah. . Makes a big difference

Maybe a 6th round pick. Still though, Anderson can do the job.

Yea, 3rd is way too high but I would think Gerhart would be the perfect back for them and he would be cheap right now.

But if ball is only gone for 3 weeks it is moot.

Anderson and Hillman have both run better than Ball. I think that the biggest problem with the running game, besides Ball's tentativeness, has been the run blocking, which has been consistently awful. Personally, I favor the undrafted rookie Juan Thompson getting some touches. He was a beast in preseason and had a nice TD run in mop up duty yesterday. Love the way he runs.

What do you guys think about Juwan Thompson, rookie outta Duke? I never knew much about him - but I've heard reports that he fits the Denver offense better than any of the others, and the staff likes him. With none of them truly worth a major add - I am keeping my eye on this kid and may add him as a flyer if I can find a useless player to drop.

Thoughts?
