I was going to say the same thing. You don't make judgements on a QB after a few games in a new system, which was my point about Griffin and it applies to Cousins as well.
With that said Cousins has always had the turnover bug. Had it in college and it's continued as a pro. which has been one of my red flags about him. 20 turnovers in 11 games is ridiculous. Say what you want about Griffin but games are won and lost by turnovers and Captain Kirk has had way more of them than Griff who has 22 in 30 games.
I will not judge Cousins by last night & certainly I still want to see him succeed. However - as you mention - he has a history of flaws very similar to what occurred last night. Even before the picks I was telling people that Cousins was forcing things & throwing into coverage. I hoped against this, but it only seemed a matter of time before he was going to throw INTs.
Unfortunately - I see no reason why this isn't going to happen again especially against good defenses. I am sure that he will work with coaches to help develop a more conservative approach. However - just like with RG3 moving out of the pocket when he feels pressure - players revert to their natural tendencies when they encounter pressure or the team needs a score. This can sometimes take years to eliminate (if it ever happens).
I truly don't believe that this was a fluke, but would love to be wrong about this.
