The Best War Movie Ever

Perfect example of why it is such a great flick.

If the actual participants cant handle it because it is too close, it has achieved something.

Saving Private Ryan is really as good as it gets. Don't know If I'll ever see a more realistic war movie.

Probably wouldn't make my top 30 war movies. I did like the opening scene but the rest of the movie wasn't up to the same quality

I was just naming a few off the top of my head. The Hurt Locker was solid, but not great. I don't like it as much as To Hell and Back or even Lone Survivor.

The Patriot was good all the way up until the cliche final battle where the two characters meet up for a one on one fight. That was just way too cliche for me.

Are all classics.

I loved how realistic both Full Metal Jacket and Jarhead were in terms of what it's like being in the military. But I don't know if they qualify as war movies

Kelly's Heros, Dirty Dozen and other such movies are great, but again not what I consider war movies.

yeah,....I hated seeing heath get killed too,....that ''villian'' was one bad dude,too.

When people mention Kellys Heros, are they talking about the original or the one with Bruce Willis and Colin Ferrell? I have never seen the original, so I don't know if the stories are the same, but as for the Willis pic, I would agree with 4d20 that is not quite a war movie. More of a court-room movie... kinda.
