Apparently neither is RG3

Possibly. And I don't really wanna make excuses for Griff as he's been pissing me off by non-stop running his mouth since last year's off-season. He still needs time within Gruden's system imo.

I'm not really looking for an 11-5 or 10-6 season with the Skins competing for the NFC East title and/or a playoff spot. I'm looking for Griffin to become acclimated to Gruden's system. To become and look more and more comfortable as the season progresses.

Calling for Cousins after week 1 is imo premature. If Griff still looks like the same QB in week 8 as he does in week 1, well

redskins defense

1 sacks , 4 qb hits and gave up a 100 yd rusher

redskins o/line

3 sacks 14 qb hits

very telling . yeah i know you cant win with 6 points . but you cant win having kicks blocked in key situations either

and no pressure on the defensive side

Rg3 didnt do dick . he cant do dick if he isnt getting blocking . if tes fumble balls inside the 10 , if guards get pushed back on simple running plays and step on his feet

no RG3 didnt have a great game . but as usual we get "its all his fault " when its clear THE TEAM FUCKED UP

This was not on Griffin, Morris should had that ball, it hit him in the damn hands.
Special teams sucked like always and why the fuck is Polumbus and Chester playing? these 2 clowns should of been cut BEFORE the season.
We better not trade our draft picks because they're going to be some high ones and we need a fucking O-Line.
Once again Griffin was pressured and running for his life and taking shots because our right side can't block worth a FUCK!

Franchise QBs make average lines look good. Average QBs make average O-lines look horrible. griffin might not have been the sole reason we lost... but he damn sure didnt do enough to win this game.

I'll summarize it this way: Griffin isn't the reason they lost, but he didn't do enough to win either. He made mistakes, but other players/units made more mistakes, and more costly mistakes. He needs to play better, no question. It will be hard for him to play much better with that OL playing matador most of the game. Even if he plays better and the OL somehow magically improves, we can't give up 8 points on special teams and expect to win anything.

This was a total team loss. As Gibbs would say, it starts with coaching, then offense, defense and special teams. Everyone struggled. But as always, the QB has the brightest spotlight on him, so he takes the most blame.

Yeah sure, and he did drive them toward scores twice only to have his teammates screw up but I tell you what, you keep taking shot after shot in the back field because of your AVERAGE line and I don't care if you're Peyton it will wear on you.
This team is a joke Period.

And an average line won't get you to the playoffs unless you have all the other facets of the game.
Which we DON'T

By this time tomorrow night we will be securely in last place and likely wont give that up all season.

By mid season the calls for Cousins will be a train roar.

I'm not at all convinced Cousins is worth anything except maybe a draft pick in trade. I believe our best chance of success is for Griff and the OL to get their shit together ASAP. As discussed far too much already, I have concerns/doubts RGII and the OL can get better, but I think thats our only hope.

Then like Tracy Lords in the mid 80's... we are well and truely fucked I would think.

We don't have those 2 fumbles and this was a different ball game. Those killed us.

That said, I thought before the season started we'd have a losing record and nothing today changed my mind about that.

Cali... i had the Jags Philly game on the second screen..... I really dont think we beat that team next week. And the first two games were supposed to be the easy ones on our schedule. After what I saw today, 0-6 looks like a real possibility.

Pretty much how I see it. Not Griffin's fault but ultimately he is the QB and he has the responsibilty that goes with it. Gruden said essentially the same thing. One of the things he mentioned and not many understand here are some of those hurries are on Griffin. Not all of them, but some. Their are protections that can be called to help him. KSD is right, Watt should have never got singled teamed unless it was against Trent.

STs cost a lot last year. They did some good things on returns. Sundberg getting blown up and Helu opening the inside on a guy who I don't think was really going to try to block the punt were HUGE mistakes. Paul fumbling on the 9 was a HUGE mistake. Griffin should have just ate the ball on the botched handoff.

Except for one play I was fairly happy with the D. They struggled late though.

Lets not shoot ourselves yet. We'll work on correcting the mistakes and come back next week.

As I said, I dont think we beat the Jags next week. And following that we have Philly, NY, Seattle and the Cards. 0-6 looks real doable from what I saw today.

The whole problem with this organization is they give up on players way too fast.
We knew trading for Griffin and giving up our 1st rd picks would hurt in the short term, that 1st season was a fluke because of Griffin and his great talent...we got a big gift in Jackson but we still have alot of holes to fill, mostly on our Oline which I don't feel we addressed this off season very seriously.
Chester and Polumbus SUCK! I've said that for a couple yrs now, I don't care if you put Cousin's or RGIII in there it will be tough with those 2 stiffs blocking.
I personally wish we'd just trade Cousin's for a draft pick already, we gave up a lot for RG3 and we don't need a QB controversy in D.C.
