thanks guys - my favorite part of the draft - the rest of the league nominated my 2nd round pick of Ball as the worst pick in the round, so I got a free shot of tequila.

as if that's a punishment!

I am now questioning the intelligence level of the rest of your league. I can't imagine how you won't dominate this baring catastrophe.

You question the intelligence of every league. Sounds a little pretentious, maybe you should get off your high horse. If Ball fails this year than you look pretty stupid right now.

Pot meet kettle.

A guy who's ADP Is currently sitting at 14 being picked in the second round of a 10 team league being voted as "worst pick of the round", is idiotic

I've seen several fantasy news outlets saying ball is one of the players you should not own. I think they have sufficient evidence to think that's a bad pick. I don't agree with them, but I could be wrong also. The fantasy draft is fun because any one of your picks, no matter how educated they are, could end up failing, or they could end up being the best. Ball is not different.

this is a 12 team PPR, and Ball was the 11th RB selected - he'd have to really fall flat on his face for me to be disappointed there, but then again, so would Mathews and Gerhart and Lacy - I always make RB depth a priority when I am able to.

I sort of agree, but I'm a firm believer that you need to nail your first few rounds if you are going to win in fantasy football. If ball does not live up to expectations as a second rounder, then you will have a lot of trouble.

What I love about Ball is the opportunity/upside. Peyton turned a middling talent like Joseph Addai into a top fantasy RB for a few seasons, and I like his O line in DEN more than what he ever had in Indy.

Also - I agree completely with the uncertainty, which is why I made sure to draft 2 other bell-cow type RBs for insurance.

My team isn't going to be in that bad of shape if Ball doesn't pan out. Especially considering only 1-2 other teams have anything close to the stable of RBs I drafted.

Just in case any one was wondering, best case scenario played out tonight:

1) Lacy
2) Ball
3) VJax
4) Roddy White
5) Ryan Mathews
6) Gerhart
7) Terrance Williams
8) Kelvin Benjamin
9) Tom Brady
10) Justin Hunter
11) Ladarius Green
12) BigBen
13) Josh Gordon
14) Patriots DST
15) Marquise Lee
16) James White

I opted to not draft a K to start the year off, thinking once I find out that Gordon is suspended for the entire season, I'll drop him for a K.

All in all, although I am a little weak at starting WRs, love my team here. I really wanted to take a chance on a couple younger RBs later in the draft, but when Gerhart was still on the board, I couldn't pass him up as my RB4. Didn't really love any of the WRs out there at that point anyway.

I'm loving that you got my MBBRL 11th & 13th rd picks in the middle rds ..... feel better about them now.

What I'm trying to say is, if you nail your top two picks while getting solid depth, you'll have a playoff team. I feel like every league will have at least one or two teams that do these. I think Ball is a great pick at two because of his upside, but you're getting those rbs late because their ceiling is much lower. I feel like after the first 25 or so picks there is a huge drop off in fantasy potential, and if you don't harness the maximum potential from those picks, you will have trouble throughout the season. Every week when I size up my opponent, I am usually looking at the players I think are almost a sure thing to go off on their team. It's hard to find those players after the third round and you need as many of those players as you can get. That's why even if you get insurance, you still need to nail your first few picks to win a league.

Having said this, I think you nailed your first two picks. I will never draft VJax, but you can do a lot worse in the third round. Atleast VJax will go off several weeks (although you have to question mccowns arm). That looks like a borderline playoff team at worst, and if you make the playoffs, anything can happen.

when VJax is your WR1 - you gotta take a few shots at guys with WR1 potential!

Hunter has steadily moved up my board all preseason, it seems.
We all know what you're getting with Wright being the possession WR in TEN, I thnk Hunter's TD total will keep them pretty close as far as pts/gm goes, and I nabbed Hunter a full 4.5 rounds after Wright.

normally, I would never take him as my WR1, but I was kinda stuck.
Had to choose between VJax, Keenan Allen, Crabtree.
Didn't feel comfortable with Garcon, Cruz, Andre, or Fitz as my WR1 this year.

That's the price I had to pay for getting Ball in the 2nd rd, or I could have had Jeffery, Antonio B, or Cobb, those 3 all went within the 5 picks before I took VJax.

Either I spend my first waiver pick on this year's breakout FA WR (always at least 1 every year, Edelman, Douglas, Allen, Jeffery were all FAs in my leagues last year and put up solid numbers) or work out a deal.

One thing I am pretty confident in, is that one of my starting WRs for the majority of the season isn't on my roster right now.
