Abreu is having a great year. Be nice to have him on the Rangers.

I heard on the radio that the Rangers were really interested in him, and then he signed with the WS all of a sudden. Nobody saw it coming.

I am already over it. I actually shouldn't be that mad at Nick in the first place. Not his fault he's on the roster in the first place. Just frustrating watching him struggle when you know he wants to do better. He was so close to being out of that inning. Was just hoping for once he didn't have to take a beating. Nick has no business being anywhere but AA, yet he's gotta go out there every 5 days and get his ass kicked.

And yeah I understood what you really meant by that, and I won't be happy until they win the WS. It's the one thing I need to die happy as a sports fan. I got to see the success of every other favorite team thus far...So I will likely be more on edge until they do knowing it was so damn close in 2011.

I rode the fence way too hard on Abreu. Was def wrong on him. Leonys being so inconsistent has sullied my opinion of other Cuban defectors and that wasn't fair to Abreu. Sorry for him that he's stuck on a bad team, but he can mash.

I was in the same boat, it was more than just Leonys that soured my opinion of those Cuban players though

As long as Leonys isn't being asked to bat higher than 7th he's a good get for the money, but problem with this team is they need more than that from him and it just isn't happening fast enough even though he's improved over last year, though less was asked of him last year and he's got a weaker team around him this year

He's already drawn more walks this season in considerably less PAs. That is one sign of improvement for him, but yes it's too gradual of an improvement. It would be a loss less of a problem on a 90 win team like you alluded in your post. Would be nice to find a RH CF to platoon him with going forward.

I had not kept up with Abreu for some time so I did not realize that he had his average up over 300. That along with his HR and RBI total is something special.
