The Yankees are really beginning to concern me in the AL East. Would love to see the Rangers come alive in this series and do some damage.

1 down...3 to go. GO RANGERS. SHOW A PULSE IN NY!!

Ryan Rua hit 2 HRs and had 5 RBIs last night while playing in LF. Our man Luke had a bad game, 6 runs in 3.1 IP.

MIK vs NICK
Ok Nick you've been challenged. Mik illustrated how to pitch on the Jeter Show to defeat the Yanks. Are you as good as Mik? I think so. Study the film and defeat the Jeter Show again.

Kinda want to leave Luke alone this Sept. Bring him in for spring training next year. Don't mess with him. Sure he will be a Sept. call up, tho.

Keith Law has his top 5 farm systems, and as expected, we're not one of em. But I did find his observations in regards to the Astros interesting.

3. Houston Astros

You might have heard this, but it's been a rough summer for the Astros. Carlos Correa, their top prospect, broke his fibula, although his long-term outlook isn't changed by that. Their top arm, Mark Appel, has a 10.80 ERA in high Class A. Delino DeShields Jr. took a ball to the face and has understandably had a down year since then.

And the team was unable to reach an agreement with its first- or fifth-round picks -- it's a long story -- turning one of the year's best draft classes into one of its weakest. On top of that, the Astros promoted two of their top prospects, George Springer and Jon Singleton, to the majors, which is good for them but bad for their rankings. It's still a deep system and I believe Correa and Appel have better days ahead, but it's not the unassailable machine it appeared to be five months ago.

I don't take those rankings all that serious anyway as I am sure most of us do not. Even when we were ranked high those things can turn on a dime.

Quick question how many posts do I need before I can start new threads? I wanted to post the rios trade rumor to toronto I hope it gets done im sure you guys were already discussing it in here somewhere but ya. Jump all over dealing Rios, maybe they'd give up a half decent arm for him.

It seems to me that it is a little more serious then people here think. Greg Oden had it as well. Former first round pick and one of the biggest busts in sports history. Its not a given that people just "come back." In fact, MORE TIMES THEN NOT, people come back playing not at the same level they left.

So, then the argument shifts to this "Derek Holland isn't a football or basketball player." Exactly right. He's a pitcher. A machine that is driven through the use of momentum derived from the legs. The amount of pressure put on both of a pitchers knees during the action is crazy. His left knee is the motor. When a pitcher lifts and begins to separate his hands and drive towards home, its the knee/hip that is doing the driving. There is a lot of pressure on this knee, whether the surgery was serious or not. I've been researching the injury a little bit today. Its not a given that he's coming back the exact same as he left. I definitely dont understand why one would ASSUME he would. I understand if someone is like "I'm thinking derek holland is coming back." I get that. Its called optimism and its what fans do. But realistically, would you not want to prepare for him to not be back to the level we want him to be ESPECIALLY if we wanna win next year? I mean, I'll even make it an even probability. What if its 50/50 he comes back to normal. If we wanna win a ring next year, and he lands on the wrong side of that coin, then thats a big part of our rotation ruined because we didnt prepare for it. Its tough to win the playoffs without being prepared. I'm not saying to like put derek in the bullpen. But be prepared for him to be your 4 or your 5, that way its not a big deal to replace him. Get better guys who are no doubters in front of him

I also know that KC is interested in him.

Luke Jackson got lit up last night and Tomas Telis keeps raking. This guy might keep us from rushing Alfaro, not that we would anyways. Telis is batting .471 in the 4 games for Round Rock. .313 between AA and AAA this year.
