Here's some more info from the DMN:

While Rangers officials expressed optimism about Gallo’s ability to transition to first if the move was ever presented to him, they said the idea was simply to give him an extra day a week during the summer that didn’t require the same “stress” level of playing third while still keeping his bat in the lineup. Under the current plan, Gallo is playing third four or five days a week, DHing once and has now played first twice.

I read this too. Poor guy is really mentally beat down. Time to give him some time off, and I don't mean DHing him as a half day off either.

Oh, and also to not have an above 5 ERA... AND THEN bitch. at least make games competitive and complain so people want to take your side. When you suck horribly like he's been doing, no one cares for him, and most people just want him to shut his mouth cuz its embarrassing

Minus the angels game he had looked like he was turning the corner a bit, while he threw a lot of pitches against the jays (walks were a problem for the first time in 5 starts) but was able to limit the damage again, his command just isn't consistent inning to inning

I still think he's on the verge of figuring it out, the angels start was just a bump in the road

Point remains, the available options aren't any better

We all know we have trouble signing FA pitchers. Anyone interested in trading for Hamels? He would be under team control for 4 more years. I would be willing to trade EA for him. I would be willing to trade prospects not named Gallo too.

I would definitely be interested, and gallo, Alfaro, Jackson, chi chi, Brinson, and Ryu would be out of the question as trade pieces.

I made almost the exact same statement. At least he's not hitting today anyway. Not sure what a day does for him since he just had 5, but then again, it probably can't hurt much either.

One of Brinson or Williams should be off limits, can't say which but one should, I'm actually a bigger Williams fan, but I could see why people favor Brinson

Rua is probably a solid player, but I'd deal him in a heart beat

I would attempt to trade Elvis plus 1 more for Hamels. I just don't know if they would be interested in Elvis. He wouldn't turn their organization around.


Maybe Herrera and Telis could be involved since we have Alfaro and plenty of MIF

No, but Rollins is getting up there in age and given how much Hamels is owed, we probably wouldn't have to send much if any cash. Supposedly the organization isn't interested in trading Elvis.
