Top 9 was a stretch. Not worth adding a 10th.

I would put Drunk On Miller at number 2. He took a average team and marched them all the way to a Suger Bowl win over Texas.

If you count his NFL days I'd agree, but I could also see leaving him off really. He really wasn't anything to write home about at Bama and was injured for a decent amount of time if I remember correctly (or read correctly, I'm not that old).

Outside Namath and Stabler, I only listed people from my era. Mike Shula is not the 10th best QB in the history of Alabama, but he is a top10 QB of my time.

If I had gone into the years prior to the 80's more, I still would have put other people ahead of Starr. Bamabino's list included them, but I took the topic to mean more about players you seen/heard play.

I only included Namath and Stabler because there is so much footage of them going into the pros especially combined with what they achieved @ Alabama. They are a bit before my time, but I feel I get a decent gauge of them.

Plus, I wanted to get a fuck you to Wayne Trimble in there, the reason I quit playing football as a kid.

It's always fun to see some of these names that I've never heard of from these other teams ad seeing different perspectives for certain teams.

Pretty good list.

I like Gesser a lot. I remember driving to Pullman and they had a giant poster of him on a billboard in the middle of nowhere on a silo. In response of course to the Joey Harrington billboard in Times Square.

I thought it was awesome.

I would have Leaf one or two though.

Oh LeFores was a freaking STUD. Just a little guy, but tremendous precision and tremendous athletic ability. One of the most underrated CFB QBs ever.

Flip Frazier and Crouch and this is pretty much my list. As far as the older guys I have to defer to people who had a chance to watch them. Frazier was the first I actually saw play.
