Don Hutson is the Jim Brown of WRs yet everyone is giving it to the Emmitt Smith of WRs :ss:

Just imagine how awesome Largent would have been if he had somebody like Montana or Young throwing him the ball instead of Zorn and Kreig. Check out some of his highlights. The guy had to freaking dive almost everytime he caught a pass. Lol.

Probably Don Hutson

Megatron has a chance to get into the discussion, though

You're a real student of the game. Most people don't even know who Don Hutson is but I agree Megatron is in the discussion too. One thing about Rice, he rarely dropped a bowl and he ran routes to perfection. Moss just had too much inconsistency and lack of effort at times to be in the conversation, great talent though. If I could give you a thumbs up I'd give you a thumbs up.

I'll take Cris Carter over Jerry Rice.

Can't believe I did that. I wasn't feeling well and was sleeping and I had a pollster or telemarketer wake me up and must not have been paying too much attention since it was shortly after I woke up. If it was Chris Carter the bowl would have been more appropriate.

I was a big fan of Chris Carter when he came out of college. He got picked in the supplemental draft because the whole weed ordeal. I knew back then he would be a great receiver, I was really pissed when the Packers didn't get him, I turned out to be dead right.

Randy Moss is #2

But - Sterling Sharpe playing some same years as Rice put up BIG #'s and was neck & neck w/ Rice and his stats before his neck injury retired him.

Paul Warfield was great during the run and grind era
Always liked Monk and Harold Carmichael and Lance Alworth was untouchable

Hey Mel, good point on Sharpe. I was a fan of the Eagles back then, Carmichael and Wilbert Montgomery were great players. If Carmichael didn't catch a seven yard pass as a Cowboy he might be remembered more fondly. Depressing he's eligible for medicare this year, makes me feel old!

Warfield is a good old school pick. It will probably wind up being someone who's playing currently. I'm prejudiced towards Megatron but I don't recall a time when there have been as many beasts at WR. It's truly a golden era. The rules help but it's not just that. There are some amazing athletes playing the position.
