Cousins only worth a 3rd?

An NFL executive told ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim that Kirk Cousins "at most" is worth a third-round pick.
Speculation of a Cousins-to-Cleveland trade hasn't gone away deep into the pre-draft process, and may continue into Thursday based on Cousins' history with new Browns OC Kyle Shanahan. The most likely outcome remains Cousins toting the clipboard for at least one more year behind Robert Griffin III in D.C. There are increasing signs pointing to the Browns drafting a quarterback high.


If its a high 3rd round pick do we do it? I say if the pick is in the top 10 of the 3rd round we do it. Cle has two 3rd round picks which one is the 7th overall in the round. I cant see why they wouldn't do it. The Kyle factor plus Manizel is a HUGE risk at #3 overall. They could get Watkins and team him up with Gordon and Cameron with an experienced QB. How does Cle not do this???

I disagree however, I think we can get Cleveland's 2nd pick this year for Cousins and our 3rd next year.

That is a bit much. A high 3rd round is very fair. If they pick Manziel that is the biggest risk of this draft. There is no way he would last 2 full seasons.

At this point, I would take a 3rd. Cousins is a (quality) career benchwarmer.

Honestly, KC is worth whatever the Redskins feel is a good deal for him. If the Redskins are offered a 5th rounder, and they accept that deal...then, KC is worth a 5th round pick for the Skins.

i dont know how that in of itself ends the trade debate ? i will say i think we will keep KC till the end of his rookie contract because i dont see us getting a good price for him

Probably true, but this means we will end up getting nothing for him. Once his contract is up after next year, he is gone.

Kirk has two years left on his deal though. Drafted in 2012, 4 year deal... 2012, 2013,2014, 2015

well its a 4th round pick not worth crying too much about and you got 4 years of strong BU duty at qb

True is isn't a given he leaves...but assuming RGIII doesnt get hurt, and plays the next 2 years.. and another team gives him an opportunity to compete for a starting job.....HE is gone
