Coming in on this later obviously ... but can't let that ride. There may have been a few (not most) who thought enough of TEX being forced to carry E. Beltre as 4OF over this unknown Choice.

I was definitely not one of them. Beltre is out of options for a reason.

Not far into ST I said, "it's going to be hard to keep Choice off the ML roster." I don't think anyone had mentioned him at the time.

Thats not what was meant by that

When its assumed Choo/Martin/Rios play almost everyday, then Beltre makes an ideal to come in as a defensive replacement and be a pinch runner, since he's barely ever going to play otherwise, why waste Choice on the bench if he's not going to play

THAT'S what people meant by that, and Wash comes right out the gate and benches Choice after a hot spring and starts a LHH vs a LHP

Umm, the Rangers were ahead 7-6 after 3 innings.

If anyone is still confused about how Ron Washington costs the Rangers games, today's fiasco is a perfect example to point to for clarification. Benching your hottest hitter in favor of a lefty who doesn't hit lefties, following up one terrible reliever with another... just terrible. It's a prime example of the manager not putting his team in the best spot to win.
