No doubt about it..... Wash made 2 huge mistakes today which hurt the team tremendously. The first was not putting Choice in the lineup at DH and the second was bringing in Figueroa.... On opening day..... When the phillies already had our pitching on the ropes. We needed someone to come in and calm things down like a frasor or cotts.

Curse of Nolan Kinsler, they'll never win a game
We'll beat Houston.... 19 -143.

Let's pray this is just opening game jitters.....let's pray real hard...

Let's also hope to see Choice and Cheerios in the lineup next game.

Choice should have been in for one of Martin or Moreland, but hindsight being 20/20 its obviously Moreland that should've sat... but at gametime you have no way of knowing but point remains, Choice should've been in for one of the lefty guys

Not going to bag on JPA, he managed a walk and a double, the big one being the walk though... he's had a combined 36 the last 2 years (18 each year)

JD may need to tell Wash to put Choice in the lineup.

Every year Wash pulls this shit...... 2 years ago it was Michael young, last year it was David Murphy, who will it be this year?

At least I see as Martin providing studly defense and speed. So to me I would have gone with Choice and Martin. But as I stated in the previous post I think Wash may have went with Mitch because he's sort of the ML "veteran". I don't agree with it but just trying to understand what Wash is thinking.

What a trolling statement

Thats not what was meant by that

When its assumed Choo/Martin/Rios play almost everyday, then Beltre makes an ideal to come in as a defensive replacement and be a pinch runner, since he's barely ever going to play otherwise, why waste Choice on the bench if he's not going to play

THAT'S what people meant by that, and Wash comes right out the gate and benches Choice after a hot spring and starts a LHH vs a LHP

I had my rant before the game. No excuse for it.

We can all bitch, but anyone that knows Wash knew that Leonys and MM would be out there since it's opening day and those are his starters. It could very well be different against lefties from here on out.

Thats what we hope, the jury is out already

But at the end of the day, that isn't what cost us the game, the pitching just flat out stunk

Agree-there is no guarantee based on past experiences.

Yeah you score 10 that should be a win, got to get starters healthy and move our other guys back to their regular roles in the BP or these young guys in the bullpen are gonna lose their confidence quick
