i'm really not liking this years wr crop after the initial few that will go early. plus i think it's tough to draft speedy wr's.

vernon and desean would open things up underneath for what i'm expecting to be kap's breakout year.

I wouldn't do a seventh with his contract.

Jackson is a great talent but he is to expensive. Yes I would do it for a 2nd rd pick but because of how much he gets I would turn down the deal unless Baalke is going to let Crabtree go then I would do the trade.

SEA and SF among the teams who talked trade w/Philly on DeSean Jackson. His $ and cap # a real issue. Some GMs think he gets released in end

Hawks better not get him.

DeSean Jackson - WR - Eagles

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports DeSean Jackson is unwilling to restructure his $10.5 million salary to expedite a trade, and may ultimately be released by the Eagles.

"Philly is trading him or cutting him. That's a fact," a source told Mehta. "They don't want him." Cutting Jackson would save $6.5 million against the 2014 cap, and perhaps more importantly, shave roughly $11 million off Philly's 2015 salary cap commitments. The Eagles would obviously much rather trade Jackson, but his unwillingness to restructure and the Eagles' intent to cut him make a trade increasingly unlikely. The Jets and Panthers would lead the chase if/when Jackson is released. San Francisco and Seattle are also reportedly interested.

I'm gonna be pissed if the Niners spend big money on a WR after neglecting the CB position.

I doubt that the 'Hawks will bite. I think they are more interstested in getting Allen signed. I see him going to the Panthers...they really need the help at WR. At this moment I'm willing to see what happens in the draft rather than hope a top FA comes the 9ers way.

Here's why I don't want any FA WRs:

The Niners probably only have 2 spots on the roster for WRs (maybe 3 if Baldwin gets cut). And those 2 guys NEED to be, first and foremost, Donte Moncrief; and the other guy: Jeff Janis. Continue the tradition of small-school WRs in SF!

By the way, if the Niners signed Jackson, who would that mean Crabby becomes the #3 WR?

We don't need any FA WRs this season unless the 9ers expect injuries. The 9ers need to draft some good WRs to groom and get ready for when Crabs walks and Boldin retires. CB is also a huge need....it seems like I post something like this in every off season for the past 3 years.

I think the only question on Roman's mind is how's his run blocking?

I would only want Jackson if he gets cut and we can get him at somewhere around the 5 million mark which isn't going to happen.

We have 5 to 6 picks in the first 3 rounds so that should be plenty play around with to grab a speedy WR that can be a return specialist.

The way our offense is constructed we don't need a top tier speed guy (I certainly wouldn't object to one) but just a good one that's talented enough to threaten defenses with his speed. Someone like a TY Hilton for example.

Because even if we get Jackson I believe Roman would incorporate and use him but he's not going to drop the power run game and not use 2 TE, 1 FB, 1 RB, and 1 WR sets.

I bet you anything he goes to the Panthers. Maybe the Jets with his familiarity with Michael Vick. One of them would be fortunate to have him with their curren WR corps. DeSean is coming off his best season. I don't get it.

here's the thing, our window is now. if desean gets released we need to seriously look into bringing him here.

having desean in those sets would be deadly

Did Jackson get traded to the Jets? He'd be perfect for the 49ers. Kaeprnick's inabailty to read defenses or go to a secondary receiver would not be a problem with Jackson. He could just throw it as far as he can and let Jackson go get it.

IF he gets cut then yes go get him but not for 10 mill a year. I would offer like 6-7 million a year.

We won't sign him or trade for him, he would cost too much. My guess is if they cut him, Cam Newton gets a new toy.
