Wilfork Asks For Release

Harsh treatment of loyal players and ugly endings is nothing new for New England. Will be interesting to hear Wilfork's tales of Bellichick's draconian atmosphere.

Granted the OP noted he asked for his release, meaning he probably sees the writing on the wall and wants to latch on while the market is still there...I'm not much of fan of BB, but must say, NE transitions from veteran players better than most teams...and you rarely hear players (publicly) bad mouthing the organization afterwards.

You maybe right..I do not know. I dont think if I was a GM I would throw up 6 mill let alone 11.7 for a 33 yr old noseguard coming off surgery but of course I am not a GM.

I'm just going off of what other guys are getting, Houston, Starks, Jones. Wilfork should be able to get a 1-2 year flyer for just under or at what these guys are getting.

As fans none of us want to see Vince go but you are right the Pats do a good job moving on. Vince has been great for us and if he gets his wish I truly do wish him the very best. It's a tough business the NFL and it requires some tough calls from both sides.

I will say Welker and Talib have taken a couple of shots at the Patriots since they came to the Broncos.

As fans none of us want to see Vince go but you are right the Pats do a good job moving on. Vince has been great for us and if he gets his wish I truly do wish him the very best. It's a tough business the NFL and it requires some tough calls from both sides.

On the flip...the Rooneys imo are loyal to a fault on some level...seems as if every great player gets an extra year or two as a retirement cushion. Both have been very successful essentially saying there's more than one way to do it right.

Come on you guys, you damn well know this is the Patriots way, it's not a secret, they have done this since BB has gotten there. Ask Bledsoe, McGinest, Milloy, Samuel.
