Best in the ACC

I think Notre Dame will eventually come around and into the ACC as a full participant at some point. Five years from now? Ten years from now maybe? Life as an Independent outside of a league isn't what it used to be. Can you imagine South Carolina as an Independent? No revenue outside of Williams Brice season ticket holders. I still wish they were in the ACC though. I remember, you're not old enough Geneh, but I remember when they had some damn good basketball with Roach, Joyce, and a guy named Bobby Cremins playing for them.

That would be great if we could get ND in all the way. But they are so determined to stay independent in football that it's madness. We may could work out a deal where they only play 6 or 7 conference games so they can be in, but is that really a good idea?

Anyway, the upside is that in football they CANNOT: 1) Win the ACC. 2) Take the ACC automatic berth to the Orange Bowl away from us. 3) If the Orange is a semi-playoff game, then we get an auto-berth in the Peach and they can't take that away, either.

The ND deal is a win-win situation for both them and the ACC, really. It is mutually beneficial.

I'd like to have Navy in the ACC. I had at first thought about it when the B1G took Md. But of course Swofford made a super choice when we took UL. I'd still like to have Navy, though. If we ever get a hunkering to have the Annapolis market all wrapped up I'd love to have Navy.

I think Syracuse will end up winning the league and UVA will end up 2nd.

I just can't get over the fact that Pitt could end up with a 26-5 record, 14-4 in the ACC and if they don't beat Cuse or UVA they won't have a win over a sure fire NCAA Team, and might not at all(although, I do expect either FSU or UNC to get a bid, but nothing is guaranteed)

Duke really holds the key to how many bids the conference will get. They sweep both UNC and Wake, neither of those teams are getting in.

at the end of the day conference realignment comes down to academic association and there is not a single school in the acc besides notre dame that considers navy an academic peer.

ND ranks 18th Nationally so there is no argument to be made.

The only ACC school that ranks higher is #7 Duke. Next highest ranking UVA at #23.
