It would be great if Manziel dropped to late 1st round, but it just won't happen. Too many teams need a QB and someone will pick him up. I have mixed feelings on him, but he does have a very accurate arm.

Of course the Browns will choose him, they have been waiting for a player like this to change the franchise around and a player that will sort of put them closer to the spotlight. This will either be a great pick or an awful one and by the way most of their picks have gone it most likely won't be good.

But can't wait for the NFL Draft, should be one of the best in some years!

Manziel just doesn't fit into the box...I'm a skeptic...especially playing in the AFCN, outdoor stadiums, weather, arm strength is a bigger deal I think...to me OAK is a better fit, but CLE is really in the mode of finding a franchise QB.

I think you are going to see a lot of 'reaches' in this draft after pick 12 or so. I know its still early but I dont think there is a huge difference between pick 13 and pick 50.

4-3 DE is really weak after Clowney, I like Ealy but I feel he is getting pushed up because there is no one else there.

RB is deep with no one at the top.

CB is deep with no one (imo) at the top.

S is fairly deep with Clinton-Dix being a but better than the rest.

3-4 LB and 4-3 LB are deep and have good players at the top but LBs tend to drop.

OL is deep with 2-3 guys at the top.

QB falls off a cliff after the first 2...or 3 if you count Manziel.

Not sure I see the value in trading down in the first round

The only question is how early.

The rumors are actually pointing to the Texans wanting Bortles, the Jags wanting Bridgewater and the Browns wanting Manziel. This leaves Clowney as the only trade bait for the Rams.

Clowney to the Texans or Rams doesn't really make sense because the Texans run a 3-4 and Clowney's value is as a 4-3 DE. The Rams are currently 3 deep at DE with DPOY Quinn, the underrated William Hayes and Mr Fundamentals Chris Long. Having them take Clowney doesn't make any sense unless they trade Long. Clowney dropping to #5 also seems nuts, though, especially considering how weak the 4-3 DE market is in this draft.

So the big winner in this is going to be whoever trades up for Clowney because its not going to be an RG3 trade. It might just take something like a 2nd rounder.

HOU...I'm hearing the HC wants Bortles...lost to UCF and he remembers what this kid did to them. Fans seemed to be mixed as you would expect.

Its not hard to imagine the Texans picking Bortles, the Falcons getting Clowney and drafting some interior olinemen and both being in the playoffs next year

The Titans drafting an OT again in the first round makes no sense. Which is exactly why they'll probably do it. :L

I hope like hell the Texans take Football with the first pick! :hope: That will remove them from contention in the division for another few years.

Clowney will be a bust. Mark it down and remember it. The guy bought into his own hype and then effectively sat last season out. I see him JaMarcus Russelling his way out of the league in under 3 years.

heard this yesterday about previous cowboys drafts....

the cowboys took a safety 7 spots earlier than kam chancellor and took a CB 11 spots earlier than richard sherman. neither of those 2 picks are still with dallas.

ATL...I'm hearing ATL is most likely to go DEF and if Clowney, or Mack are on the board I think they will. Jags are in a great spot...they're going with the 2nd QB off the board I think. I expect ATL to sign a OL FA this year.

I have to say I have never more vehemently disagreed with a draft analysis than this one in my life.

Interesting...I'm going to wait for my 2.0 mock until after the combine...partly for this reason...unless he changed again, I think Hundley has decided to stay in school.

On your mock...I'm thinking HOU is going Bortles, agree with Matthews to STL barring a trade...here's where it gets interesting @ 3...would JAX leave the #2 QB on the board for Clowney?

If Clowney had no baggage at all I think JAX would and should take him...with his lack of motor concerns on a team that might not win many games...idk...I think they will take the QB.

ATL...they really want Clowney, and the 2nd choice might be Mack over Barr and TB I think is going DEF...Clowney, Barr, Mack all have to be pretty high on their board with Lovie running the show now.

If I'm the GM, we're shopping that pick for any reasonable offer. Let's be honest here, the Jags' will have undrafted free agents starting Week 1. That said, I understand they need to fill seats.
