Saints need some help in secondary, WR and OL. Looks like there will be some good ones in this draft.

Who doesn't need some help on the OL it seems.

I'm mocking OLB, Beasley CLEM to NO, transitioning to 3-4 LBs are always good picks, but given your thoughts on secondary, I could see you guys taking the S Clinton-Dix from AL, or Pryor from Louisville to pair up with Vacarro...Gilbert is another big CB that might still be on the board.

PIT would as well and we also need DEF...badly...I'm mocking Shazier OLB from OH ST to PHI...I have Benjamin going to KC one pick after you guys...good chance he will be on the board when PHI picks.

Shazier would be a good pick, my concern is the secondary, both safeties need a huge upgrade, depth well even a starter at the corner isnt foolish either the defense is the concern for Philly, so I imagine alot of defensive picks this year...

That would be very interesting if Benjamin is there if Reid takes him, Andy wasn't a draft god on wide outs with his time in Philly, he likes the big guys up front in the first round...

I don't see Saints taking Beasley. They were 4th in the NFL in sacks this season, so their pass rush is good as is. Plus, they have never drafted a linebacker in the first round under Loomis.

I'd like to see if they can snag Watkins from Clemson. They definitely need some speed and playmaking ability on the outside. Other than Graham, all they have are possession receivers.

Poor Browns are going to set their franchise back another few years if they do this. :L

You could be spot on...4th...I wonder how many came against ATL & TB...lol.

Point well taken...picking in the high 20s I'm not sure if you're going to get an impact speed WR...to my point, just sizing them up to the top tier NFC teams, the Saints tackling behind the DL needs some help.

Heading into the Rams game, the Saints had the fewest missed tackles in the league. But you are right, they're going to lose a lot of guys to the salary cap in the offseason and most of them are in the back 7 (Vilma, Smith and Harper plus Jenkins is a free agent).

Right now, my top preferences for round 1 would be:

1. Mike Evans (After thinking about it, I seriously doubt Watkins will last that long)

2. Kevin Benjamin

3. One of the Florida CBs

You see them every week, I see them against ATL twice a yr, and probably 3 or 4 other times throughout the year so obviously I don't know the team as you do. But, in both games vs SEA and I watched that NYJ game in part and came away thinking NO needs LB help.

I like both Purifoy & Robertson myself and have included them in the pool for our 47th pick...they might be a slight reach for you in the 1st. On the WR front, I think both your choices will be gone as well, but keep an eye on Bryant WR also from Clem in the 2nd...I have him in our 2nd rd pool as well.

BTW, LSU RB Jeremy Hill declared for the draft today. My guess is a day 2 selection.

I don't blame you...he can play.

I should say I have no bias pro or con towards JM...but I have my guys as well. I was all in for Eddie Lacy in the 2nd last year and we passed on him...turns out the guy we got is at least as good, maybe a better receiver.

Finally looked closely at game film and made a mock draft with no trades.

1. Texans - Bridgewater QB
2. Rams - Matthews OT
3. Jaguars - Clowney DE
4. Browns - Watkins WR

I think these are the elite prospects. The Jags and Browns might try and find a QB some other way but passing on Clowney when the Jags have had no pass rush for years seems difficult. The Browns also currently only have one threat on offense and Hoyer/Campbell aren't exactly dinosaurs.

5. Raiders - Bortles QB
6. Falcons - Robinson OT
7. Bucs - Manziel QB
8. Vikings - Mack DE
9. Bills - Barr OLB
10. Lions - Lee WR
11. Titans - Ealy DE
12. Giants - Lewan OT
13. Rams - Nix - DT
14. Bears - Hageman DT
15. Steelers - Dennard CB
16. Cowboys - Beasley DE
17. Ravens - Evans WR
18. Jets - Ebron TE
19. Dolphins - Richardson OT
20. Cardinals - C Kouandijo OT
21. Packers - Mosley ILB
22. Eagles - Gilbert CB
23. Chiefs - Amaro TE
24. Bengals - Carr QB
25. Chargers - Verrett CB
26. Browns - Robinson WR
27. Saints - Van Noy OLB
28. Panthers - Beckham Jr WR
29. Niners - Roby CB
30. Patriots - Seferian-Jenkins TE
31. Broncos - Shazier OLB
32. Seahawks - Jackson G

All in all this draft looks much better than last years

Good work...my thoughts

Top 5...you're right about CLE and JAX, but I don't think either team wants to go into next season with the QB position being settled...I'm thinking the QBs fly off the board early. HOU, JAX,CLE with the Browns picking a WR @ 26.

6-10...we both think Manziel comes off the board here. ATL desperately needs an OT, but also a pass rusher. If Barr is there they might go his direction if the GM can convince the owner they can pickup and OT @ 37 which I think they can.

11-15...PIT, I hope do not pick Dennard, in fact if Hageman is off the board (I'm mocking him to PIT) as you have look for Ebron or Evans to be the pick in Steeltown. Desperate for big playmaker for Ben.

16-20...makes sense

21-25...interesting pick for CIN, but one I think some Bengal fans would welcome...CBs getting a bit old...I have them taking Gilbert.

26-32...b-t-b WR in CLE when they have Gordon? Perfect pick for NE, even though I have Nix going there after the injury to Wilfork.

Again...good stuff...I will post mine here soon.

Hmm...good call on the Cleveland pick. I got a little sleepy when I was making the mock and forgot that I already picked a WR to them.

26. Browns - Boyd QB
27. Saints - Van Noy OLB
28. Panthers - Robinson WR
29. Niners - Beckham Jr WR
30. Patriots - Seferian-Jenkins TE
31. Broncos - Shazier OLB
32. Seahawks - Jackson G

BPA for Rd 2: Clinton Dix S, Benjamin WR, Roby CB

I'm also not so sure that Lee and Evans are better WRs than Robinson and Beckham Jr

Mel Kiper is now my favorite expert after seeing his mock

1. Houston Texans: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
New Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien worked with Tom Brady in New England and knows what it takes to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel has all the raw talent to be a star at the next level, and Houston has the need for a franchise QB.
If Manziel shows well at the combine and during his individual workouts, Kiper will be correct in his belief that the former Heisman Trophy winner will go No. 1 overall.

Not sure we will pass on Barr if he is still there at 6th, but can't go wrong with either him or Clowney.
