Poor Mets.

HGH is a hell of a drug.
Can I get an over/under on this?
Now that he is in New York, how long will it be before he comes out with a "Bartolo Cologne"?
Jeter has something like 5, and he does not have the perfect name, like Bartolo does.
True, but he's not even half as handsome as Derek.

Seriously though, wtf? He's 40, $10 million per? At $5 million per I could've swallowed this. The Wilpon's finances better be in order because if this contract hinders their ability to sign other, more worthwhile players I will be furious. They couldn't find a cheaper option? They have Gee, Niese and Wheeler ready to go with a number of other young arms ready to compete for jobs, why not grab a 3/4 pitcher for under $10?
Are they the same owners who signed Jason Bay, etc?
The Yankees took a chance on him in 2011. After an effective year in the Bronx, he headed to Oakland in 2012 for $2 million, only to draw a 50-game ban for testosterone. Then in 2013, he put together one of the best years of his career.
Why is his timing so good? In 2013, Colon posted a career-best 2.65 ERA in 190 1/3 innings of work for Oakland. He was very close to the same pitcher he was in 2012 for the A’s when he ran a 3.43 ERA in 152 1/3 innings, but he got lucky in two key areas: he stranded runners at an abnormally high rate, and fewer fly balls turned into home runs than in the year before. Colon’s FIP – Fielding Independent Pitching (which is scaled to ERA based heavily on strikeout and walk rates and normalizes batted ball events and timing) – dropped, but less dramatically so, from 3.82 in 2012 to 3.23 in 2013.
