If Manning averages 2 TDs the rest of the season per game, he'll have 49 at the end of the season. I believe he will at least average that throughout the last 4 games. He's got a great chance of breaking the record. As far as passing yards, I doubt he will catch Drew Brees's record. He will probably end up in the top 4 all-time single season passing yards or better. We will just have to wait and see. The best thing about the whole scope is that Manning didn't have to rack up stats like Brady did in 2007 to get to 50. Brady had to win games by 30+ points and rack his stats the whole season to get 50 TDs. Manning has been taken out 3 times this year extremely early in the 4th quarter of games. That's probably around a full game Manning was taken out time wise. That's incredible. If Manning stat padded like Brady did, he would probably have 44TDS at this point and another 300+ yards easily.

Manning will definitely do it IMO. With that talent on offense and that schedule, he can throw as many TD's as he feels like, and he should.

As far as Brady in 07 stat padding, didn't Manning throw 7 in game one this year? If that's not stat padding I don't know what is. I remember Brady coming out in several of the games I saw in 07. People need to stop with the sour grapes, the one thing I remember about 07 was the fact that the Pats were near the top of the league in rushing TD's too that year too. Sounds like Brady could've put up a lot more TD's if he wanted to.

If Manning has a really, really good year, will he have more rings than Brady?
Will he even have more rings than he has already?

If Brady has a really, really good year, will he have anymore Superbowl Victories from 2005-2012?

See how inconsequential that sounds?

They were up 15 points with over 5 minutes left to go and Manning threw a short pass that went the distance. Is that really stat padding? There have been several games where Manning could of tried to inflate his numbers, such as the game where knowshon had 3 rushing tds in a game inside the 5.

Not to mention the Broncos are no. 3 in the league in rushing TDs

"Drew Brees is over-rated."

Panic on the streets of SportsHoopla.

"Manning's numbers are the best ever."

"Meh."

Just fucking wow.

I'm especially entertained by the typically smug, forever righteously-indignant-at-the-first-hint-of-criticizing-Brady Pats fan.

Perhaps my sarcasm was not well enough illustrated.

I find this thread amusing. I also think it may have been at least a month or more since I called you a hater...

Good point. I remember Brady coming out in 4th or running ball with big leads. I dont think I ever saw Jim Sorgi take a snap. Make money holding a clipboard, I 'm envious. The game Brady threw 5 td's in first half vs Titans, he was pulled after 1st series in 3rd Q. He could have put up 9-10 td's. He isnt a stat whore and wants to win. He wasnt heaving the ball to beat Drew Brees for most consecutive games with a td. Here is a link with Peyton throwing 3 in a row and Jeff Saturday mad he didnt run ball.

The 7 touchdown game wasn't one where he was padding stats. At half time the score was 17-14 Baltimore actually winning. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was 35-17 with Manning tossing 3 touchdowns. He ran one more series in the 4th quarter for another touchdown to make it 42-17 and was getting ready to come out of the game but then the Broncos defense screwed up badly allowing the Ravens to score a quick 10 points making the game 42-27. The Broncos brought out Manning to pick up one more first down kind of thing to put the game away and he threw a screen pass that just so happened to go for 78 yards when all they were working for was a 1st down. Not like he was heaving it down field trying to run up the score.

Again, don't remember every Patriot game 6 years ago, but I don't remember Brady heaving bombs up big in 4th quarter. I remember them going for it on 4th down instead of kicking FG's which, by all coaching etiquette, is the proper thing to do in blowouts. Non Pats fans seemed to have been bothered by that. The reason I liked Bradys record is that his 50th TD meant something, it gave the Patriots the lead in a close game (the 16th win). Undefeated and the records Brady lead that offense to is the reason Bradys season of 2007 will always be considered (IMO) the best season ever.

peyton didn't even play more than three snaps in the final game of the season and he threw 49. On 80 less passes than brady.

The lions thanksgiving game peyton sat out the last quarter and a half of the game...
