"any team any time any place"

isn't a cliché in East Lansing.
(apparently, it's not one in Lexington either)

That's something Tom Izzo has done a lot of and it's worked well. With a few losses, MSU tended to end up higher seeded fooling a lot of people into thinking they were not as good.

Izzo's not unique in believing challenging schedules are the crucibles for tournament-quality steel...he's just been a little more audacious ('crazy', sometimes) than most.

Izzo was way pizzed his guys were out-rebounded by the kitties. When he gets pizzed about rebounding, his trainers bring out football shoulder pads and the team 'scrums' (really rough shit) under the boards all day.

And the trap is baited and set for Jack_John_Mark

Anyhow.....welcome to Sports SportsHoopla Trolly. I posted on CBS as arcsstatic. You might not remember me because we never tangled on there.

However I do know two things....
1. When I am outclassed in debating, I keep my ignorance to myself
2. I do recognize a professional trapper by the way their traps are set.

I will ease around the trap and let someone else's ankle feel the jaws snap shut

Hopefully it will be some SportsHoopla "dumbass" who stepped in the trap
And then as Freddie Mercury used to sing..."another one bites the dust"

Have fun on here Trolly..............Just remember to spare the simple minded posters......they are probably some of my kinfolk:postwhore:

The reason Kentucky out rebounded MSU is the size and athletic differences in the players. MSU simply played better team ball because they are older and have had some time to play together. End of this year, MSU will be no match for the Cats. Probably a good thing to be severely pounded on the boards and still win the game. Had to be doing some other good things....like hitting a bunch of 3's???

See now why you don't rank a bunch of Freshmen #1 until you actually know if they are #1?

No, because the rankings in January have fuck-all to do with the rankings in November.

This is the same bullshit argument that people use in the tournament to justify that teams were overseeded, or included when they shouldn't have been. (or vice versa)

Not being #1 now, doesn't mean there weren't valid reasons to rank UK #1 then.

You missed the point.

You don't rank a team based on how you think kids from High School might play. That is absolutely absurd.

How in the fuckity fucking fuck fuck would anyone in the right mind think that a team of Freshmen will for surely just come in and clean house?

Sure it COULD happen......but for fuck sake, come back to reality. They're 17/18 year old little kids....and they have to play the big boys now......and they're losing to Arkansas and LSU because of that very reason.

Kentucky is clinging tight to that Louisville win now. Florida will most likely sweep them. Potential good wins are looking scarce while another upset or two is very possible. Will media darling UK be void of the NCAA Tourney two straight seasons? Stay tuned....

This ^^^ is where the saying "The winner doesn't know what the gambler understands."

Everyone on the planet knows ranking a young team that UK had was a risk....but every once in a while, you think you finally nailed it and you put your neck out. Well some people do.

It's so much easier to say "UK won't win it all"...than it is to say...."UK will win it all. " Even a mouth breather can make the prediction that UK won't win it all.....and be right more times than not.

Well, unfortunately Mizzou probably isn't going to do much against them with the next game. We only have 3 players on offense so its not going to be difficult for a team with length to shut us down. I figure our wins this year say more about who we are playing than about our team (ex: Arkansas sucks)

Jabari Brown is shooting almost 50% for 3pt land this year, though. Just feed him the rock

I think Mizzou would stand a better chance this weekend had UK just come off a close win rather than a loss. But the loss is telling of how well UK is playing ball this year. As long as Mizzou plays UK tougher than they did against UGA, they pick up a close W, at home.

You'll probably need Brown shooting a dozen 3s with that season average to offset the length imbalance.

No, you missed the point. The best way to rank teams is based on all of the available information, and that includes how good incoming freshman are supposed to be. Ignoring that is simply being a stubborn dickhead.

Now if you want to make an argument for the predictions regarding freshmen being less reliable that predictions on returning players, I'm all ears, but so far you haven't made any fucking case at all to support what you've said.

UK has tons of talent in this class... and they had the potential to be #1 easily... but what is the most shocking thing to me is how BAD their backcourt is shooting the ball from anywhere beyond 15 ft. They are hard to watch sometimes they shoot so poorly.

I was an advocate that if they continued to progress given their youth, that they could make a huge impact come March. After watching the last few games, I am not so sure they will make an impact given their inability to shoot anything outside 15 ft.

What?

That is exactly what I said. Declaring that a bunch of kids coming together out of High School (who don't even know each other yet) are just going to mesh and run the table is far less likely due to the fact that so many other teams are returning starters and they have already played together, meshed together, and found out how to conquer any issues they've had.

This is simple logic. Yea every once in a while something is gonna happen like the Fab 5......but to predict it's going to happen is just fucking retarded. All the media was looking to do was get a bunch of attention out of it.

Why is predicting it fucking retarded? It's a goddamn preseason ranking. Nobody is hanging banner's for that shit. If somebody thinks a bunch of kids are going to be the best team, that's his fucking opinion. Yours can differ. But pointing to the mid season rankings as proof that your way of ranking teams is better, is fucking stupid. You were right that UK isn't the best team. That doesn't mean that you were right that you can't rank a bunch of freshmen preseason #1. Those aren't the same things.

They can't.

They should all be fired for doing so.

Well, they did, and they aren't.

So who's got history on their side now, dipshiat?

You must either be a Kentucky fan or be really pissed off because you thought they would be #1 as well.

I guess when I made the comment "you can't just rank them based off of some perceived potential out of high school" what I was really saying was.........."you would have to be a fucking moron to think 5 high school guys who have never even talked to each other before are going to gang up and take down the best."

You're right, they CAN do whatever they want. They all lose a ton of credit though now as anyone with half of a brain and a pint of Everclear in their bloodstream could have figured that out.

1) he isn't a kentucky fan
2) your argument is really stupid.
3) before you jump down MY throat, I was of the opinion at the beginning of the year that UK at #1 was the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a while. BUT that doesn't mean that your points have any merit in the way you are trying to get them across

My point is simple. I've only made 1 point. That point is this.....

These folks just looked at what Rivals said was the best recruits in the country and said to themselves, "omgz.......like omgz!!!! kentucky got 5 neat little kids!!!! they will win it all right away."

That is fucking stupid. Anyone who isn't stupid would have to agree with that.

I couldn't care less where they are ranked. You seem to be the only one that actually cares where anybody is ranked... especially in the preseason. You. Not me. Don't project. It's silly and comes off as desperate.

Preseason polls mean fuck-all. It's just a bunch of dudes guessing. I said it a few moths ago when you started your little whiny bitchfit, and it was true then, and it's true now. Bitching about it then made you look like a little sissy bitch. Bitching about it now, makes you look like a little bitter sissy bitch.

But thanks for your input on the polls, it'll be filed with all of the other 2nd guessing whiny sissy bitch votes, in the trash can.

I look forward to next November when you can share with us your next bit of armchair point guard wisdom and tell us yet another team that won't be number one.
