I think the answer is yes. High Schools have them, so I assume universities do.

A&M started it. So, they get the credit.
But, Texas really made the hand signals casually popular outside of the University.
The "HOOK EM" has had more universal usage and popularity.
Texas fans could use "HOOK EM" to anyone even aggie fans.
Even non-Texas grads could flash the "HOOK EM".

A&M used theirs more internally.
"GIG EM" was more of a formal goodbye amongst A&M folks.
Very rarely did A&M folks drop the "GIG EM" on anybody other than fellow Ags.
And it was frowned upon for non-Aggies to ever use it.


All the rest of the schools are just horrible modern era attempts to copy the Horns and Aggies.
TCU is the worst offender. They had to modify their attempts several times.
