Defense wins Championships.

don't worry, punchline. they don't believe in YOU, either...
i put down 2-2. in all honesty the guys who are selling the Chargers and Chiefs short just might be in for a bit of a suprise...
talib will be back after the bye. hes huge piece pats can slap him on aj green, jimmy graham, julio jones and let dennard feast on #2 wrs instead of having to play #1 wrs. under this situation the pats are very hard to pass on. dont look at what the pats did over the last 4 games without talib, look at what they did with him on the field. thats what the defense really is.

LOL That is certainly not what I meant to express! Rather, Denver's schedule, like KC's, is tougher over the rest of the season than it has been so far, particularly these next four games. I do, however, like your four wins prediction. It will be tough to do that, but I definitely think that the Broncos are capable of that.

Back the to topic of the thread.
If the Broncos defense plays like it did against Washington, they go 4-0.
Only team that can beat the Broncos is the Broncos, i.e. turnovers, injuries.
We saw what happened with the defense against the Redskins when Woodyard is back in at MLB and Von Miller is back up to live game speed after his suspension.
As long as Denver protects the football, they win all 4 games.
I don't see SD or KC being able to keep up offensively in scoring and NE has issues on defense.
That may have been true before all the rule changes that protect the WR and the QB, but in the new NFL, a solid passing game with the threat of a good ground game is just as important, if not more so.
KC does not have the offensive firepower on offense to win a championship.
I am just not sure Denver has a defense capable of winning a championship.

The redskins are your indicator? A 2-5 team?
Mkay.
I am just not sure Denver has a defense capable of winning a championship. Good defenses still work. As indicated by KC's flawless record.
Neither Super Bowl team last year was there for their offense.

Irrelevant when he was disputing "defense wins championships". That's why both were there.
That is true. Still, in its four playoff games last year Baltimore averaged about 34 points per game and gave up about 22. SF, in three playoff games, averaged around 35 points per game, while giving up around 30. To say that either team was in the SB solely because of its offense or its defense is wrong. And I think it's generally wrong to say that either offense or defense wins championships. Playing the best football in the playoffs is what wins championships, regardless of which side of the ball is stronger.
So you think that is a general recipe for winning the SB? A team with a stronger offense than defense cannot win a SB? I don't think that's right.
It's not that they can't. It's that they're less likely to.
I think if the NFL has shown us anything it is that Championships can be won in multiple ways. Last year Baltimore was ranked 17th on defense. Nothing special but not horrible either. The year before that the Giants were ranked 27th in total defense. The year before that Green Bay was ranked 5th. The year before that New Orleans was ranked 25th. The year before that Pitt was ranked 1st. The year before that the Giants were ranked 7th. The year before that Indy was ranked 21st. So again teams have found different ways to win Championships throughout the years. Sometimes it has been through a mediocre part of a team rising up come playoff time. Just look at last year in the Baltimore defense being very timely in big plays while the offense played pretty flawless with a quarterback that for most of the year was considered pretty mediocre but then went on one of the better runs in playoff history by a quarterback. There is some luck involved in all of it as well with some bounces going one team's way compared to another in the playoffs.
You already mentioned Baltimore last year, another really good example of that is Indy. Their defense was pretty terrible during the season, and then once the playoffs started they played really well (with the only exception being the AFC Championship game against the Patriots) and were a big reason they won the Super Bowl.
I think anyone discounting the Chiefs as Super Bowl contenders is mistaken. Any team that makes the playoffs (and the Chiefs are definitely making the playoffs) can get hot, get some bounces, and run to the Super Bowl. Look no further than the last two Super Bowl champs for evidence of that, I doubt anyone thought the Giants or Ravens had much of a shot at winning the Super Bowl when the playoffs started.
