Okay, I've lost two and a row to fall to 3-5. I sent out a mass text to my league today, saying that everyone is on the block, including Jamal Charles and Desean Jackson. I said I was looking to package them together.

This guy in my league has the perfect compatible roster to complete a deal with me, but after I offered him a deal that may have leaned a little my way... he's low balling the shit out of me when there's (what I think to be) a HANDFUL of fair deals on the table.

He wants to deal me Mccoy, Andre Johnson, and Sidney Rice for Charles and D-Jax. I just simply cannot see where that could possibly help me at all. I downgrade in production at both RB and WR. Then I pickup a depth WR and possible flex play in Sidney Rice. It's just not worth it. Like everyone else, I have depth at WR. They're a dime-a-dozen right now. What's the point in having the #1 RB in fantasy if you're going to deal him for inferior players?

He also has Victor Cruz, AJ Green, Tom Brady, and Eddie Lacy. I also have Blackmon, Amendola, Crabtree and Matt Ryan (I was possibly thinking Ryan for Brady as well, buy low type of thing).

All I've asked, is that he swaps in Cruz for Sidney Rice, and I'll give him Crabtree or Amendola.

It would give him the #1 RB (Charles), an emerging Eddie Lacy, the #1 and #2 WR's in points, and then a ton of WR depth still to boot. With Amendola, Rice, Marvin Jones, and Eddie Royal on the bench who he could play in his flex.

I mean, I think that deal really meets in the middle. Or, does it? If not, what is a good deal with those players?

But you're not really buying low on Brady. Atleast, not trading low. You're giving him Ryan, conceivably, and Ryan IMO isn't worth much the rest of the year. I sure as shit wouldn't give up Brady for Ryan(non keeper).

This is a keeper league. It's a progressive keeper league, which makes Ryan even more valuable. You keep one player from every year as you move along, in the slot you took him in, or the slot that the guy you traded with took him in.

Matt Ryan was selected in the 7th round of 2011. So he'd be able to be kept in the 7th round. For a struggling Brady, I'd do that.

Either way, you're right. Giving Ryan isn't buying low. Sorry, I'm tired.

I don't think his counter to you is "lowballing the shit outta you"
McCoy and Charles are nearly a wash. Sure Charles is #1..But McCoy is right there. . we're talking what? 3-4pts a week difference? And that's being generous.

Andre and Rice are close enough to DJAX's value that this wouldn't be an insulting offer by any means.
Might not be a completely even, "fair" offer, it probably favors him a little, but like you admitted, your first offer probably favored you a little.
Given this guy's roster that you've listed thus far. . he's probably not really excited to trade, I would imagine he's sitting oretty good, and if he's at all like me. .when I'm in that position, if I'm not totally into trading away a particular player, the other owner basically has to buy him off me, in a deal that heavily favors me, otherwise I'll keep him.

If you get annoyed every time someone won't do a perfectly fair trade that would make their team better, you're in for a very annoyed future in fantasy football. And remember that some of this may be negotiating tactics.

No point explaining why it's a good deal for them; they need to see it for themselves.

I've played fantasy football for a VERY long time.

I've made trades that were by no means fair to me, because I've still thought they made my team better. I just don't like when people have the means to get a deal done, and will only make a deal if it clearly favors them. It's pettiness. He could give Cruz and his team still gets better.

And actually, this guy's team was 2-5 heading into this week. To the person who said he's sitting pretty.

I said he's "probably" sitting pretty,

And its very debatable if his team is better if he agrees to the deal you proposed.

personally I think your valuing your guys a bit high in this instance. Sorry

Fair enough. Would you do the deal he offered, if he includes Marvin Jones instead of Sidney Rice?

Also, if so, can you explain why this would make my team better? I just don't see it really... but I'm open minded.

Well first off, I wouldn't say that deal makes your team better. . Its a lateral move that at best gives you a choice/options at WR3/flex.
The way I see this, your team and his are a bad fit, UNLESS, you focus on Green, Cruz and Lacy. Going after McCoy destroys the appeal of Charles. But if you can sell this guy on his great it'd be to have Charles and McCoy, you might be able to take half his team. Whereas dealing McCoy for Charles just really doesn't have enough benefit to the other team for you to get anything truly meaningful in addition to McCoy.

Btw.. no I wouldn't be too excited with Marvin Jones..I'm not ready to buy into anyone other than Green being reliable with the Bengals.. especially when Hawkins comes back.

Just because you want a deal to happen doesn't mean the other team is being petty for declining. You need to relax a lil bit. You ever think maybe he's ok with his team? Or the fact that maybe he doesn't like to trade? There are people out there with differing opinions than you.

I have received multiple offers from one team in a two qb league I'm in. He wants Stafford badly but I'm unwilling to give him up. Sure he's made deals that were close to me accepting, but ultimately I want Stafford. Plain and simple. And if he were to go crying to me about me being "petty" I'd tell him to shove it up his ass. It's my team and I do as I wish.

So maybe it's time to move onto a new team to trade with? Instead of raising your blood pressure level, just move on bro.

I see no reason to deal Charles. I know you're in a funk, but it's not like you're 0-8. You're hardly out of it at 3-5, and Charles is as sure a bet at RB as there is. Philly's offense is really dicey right now, so I see nothing too appealing about taking on McCoy, or for that matter keeping D-Jax. With the QB situation being as bad as it is there, I'm not wild about anyone on that team anymore. I'd say look to upgrade your QB situation and perhaps deal D-Jax and one of your backups for a better WR, and I think you're good for a playoff run.

Agreed, something like Charles for Cruz and Lacey makes more sense, and probably has a better chance of getting done.

I don't see why the OP feels the need to package them together, he'd most certainly get more if you can find separate partners for each.

Okay, fuck off to you. Not him.

I'm not pissed at him at all, nor is my "blood pressure" rising. Clearly he has the right to do what he wants. I just wanted to get a deal done. Negotiating this stuff is fun for me. Even when it is stressful.

I'll give it a shot, but he likes Lacy as much as McCoy, I believe.

You can go fuck yourself too son. You said it was "pettiness", not me. So you're obviously upset he won't trade with you. You even made a thread about it to complain. I gave my opinion. Some teams don't wanna trade, and some won't unless they like the deal. Not everyone trades just to trade. And it is of my opinion that you're a jackass for thinking its petty he won't trade with you.

Ehh, I remember him coming to the Lions board and being a real asshat to all the guys. Needless to say, he got banned from there. So my opinion of him isn't the greatest. I saw a couple times already his shittiness shined through and struck a couple others on this board.
