I'm still not sure that Oden is a good fit for Miami. Their defense thrives on their quickness and athleticism. Those are two characteristics that I don't see Oden having.

On offense, I see him more of a lane-clogger than a beneficial component. Birdman is a good fit because he isn't a post player and moves well off ball for easy lay-ups and put-backs when his man is helping out on Lebron.

Even if he stays healthy, I don't see Oden having a significant impact for the Heat.

I think he could useful depending on matchups. I don't think you'll see him out there playing big minutes though. Miami has been winning playing small ball. They've been successful without having a 7-footer clogging the paint.

Agree but against the major players in the east he will be useful because of the big men those teams have. He will probably avg at most 15 minutes

It's not like these players are scoring every minute they. If Oden comes in there and get the job done in those minutes, he just changed a 20 and 14 night for Hibbert into a 12 and 10 night possibly.

On top of that people won't be as willing to drive to the paint with Oden as they were with Bosh as the C

I think he is one of those guys who has a body that he just can't support... I don't see him doing much.

True, in a way, but the 15 is just an imaginary number.
IF, and it's a big if, he is still around in May/June, then the situation and opponent would determine his use.
Example, vs Pacers, if Hibbert plays 38 minutes, and Oden can be a nuisance to him for half of them, then that is a significant contribution.

Like BK stated, it isn't like the opponents center is involved in every play.
