I'm not sure I want a cowher or gruden, either. It would kinda be like the second stint of Joe G. That fire and hunger just wasn't the same. Those guys that have been out of the game for a few years doing TV have it made and they always know they can go back to it. I want a guy that knows his career is on the line. Someone that has always wanted this, but has never had the opportunity. I'd look to the top coordinators in the league first. Then, and maybe just as a curiosity, I'd bring in Shaw from Stanford and O'Brien from PS, just to kick the tires.

AJ Smith the guy that fired a 14-2 coach? Sounds like a good idea.

My recollection is Cowher and John Gruden said they don't want to coach for Snyder. I like Cowher but I also think that they never developed Kordell Stewart. The architect of the defense was LeBeau so I don't know that I think he sounds awesome.

I have noon in the office firing pool. :laugh3:

he is in the skins front office already . he was hired this year . coincidence? i am not saying its a good move but i am saying its funny he is there

morrocco brown could be in the mix too

I am afraid of that dad, I did know he was in the front office. I am not a fan of his at all.

God forbid. That's Dan's way of operating. Falling in love and throwing money at them.

If we interview him and he thinks the Houston gig is better than ours, I don't want him here. Lats thing I want is a guy coming for money, wether he is a coach or a player.

No more retreads! I want a younger HC, preferably a defensive minded one. Our defense has been absolutely horrible. No college coaches, either, especially Art Briles. That would send the wrong message to the team. People thought the locker room was messed up, before. The locker room would be very messed up, if he was here. People would figure he'd cater more to RGIII more than the other players. No!

I too am kind of worried that the hunger and fire that Cowher is known for might be missing. Has he forgotten how much work it really is? Not sure. I think it is safe to say that if he does get the job, the Redskins will play hard EVERY week, hit, and tackle. He likes the 34 and we already have that in place. He likes a punishing running attack and we have that or could have that in Morris. He has worked with a hybrid QB in Stewart before, except RG3 can actually throw the football. My only question is does he really want to coach. I don't want to waste time wining and dining him and lose out on a hot coordinator or college coach.

Me too! Of course Snyder has to give the angry mob their pound of flesh.

No one buys Mike Shanahan Jerseys.

They buy Alfred Morris jerseys, a guy Mike found in the 6th round. They will buy Reed jerseys next year. They buy Garcon jerseys. They may be throwing away their RG3 jerseys 3 years from now. The best players should play and people will buy the jerseys. Snyder is notorious for putting the cart before the horse. Just like when he hired Zorn as an offensive coordinator before he even knew who his head coach would be. That is a completely assinine move. You hire the GM first, then GM hires coach, Coach hires assistants (with input from GM) and so on.

Here we go again. The coach wants to win, therefore the coach should be allowed to play the best players. If he thought RG3 was the best player he would play him, if not then RG3 has got to earn it on the practice field. Then you see winning results, then you sell jerseys. Again he is putting the cart before the horse and everyone keeps calling RG3 "the franchise", and "the franchise QB". That is FAR from a certainty. But instead of being smart and hedging there bets like Shanahan want's to do they would rather go ALL IN on RG3. Not very smart.

Blunt... you are preaching to the Choir on this whole thing. At least when talking to me. I fully expect Dan to screw this up in spectacular fashion. Dan Snyder with cap space and no one in the organization with the chops to tell him no is a pretty good bet for us to go on a free agent spending spree.

This is why I think in our situation we would be better served with a famed head coach as a figure head. Someone respected enough that he could have control of the franchise. Snyder will never let a young up and coming coach develop within the organization because he would almost certainly undermine that coaches authority at every turn. Soo..you hire a figure head famed head coach and then that coach hires top notch coordinators.
