Cleveland has still given up about the same number of points per game that they gave up last year (21.3 this year and 23 last year). I think that their decision to trade Trent Richardson, who they drafted third overall in 2012, only two games into his second season is far more surprising. I also think that the turnaround of the Saints defense from last year to this year (12.7 points per game this year versus 28.4 last year) is more surprising than Cleveland's defense.

Very good point. I forgot about the big improvement in the Saints scoring defense. I agree with you that the Saints defensive improvement is even more surprising that Cleveland finally having a good run defense.

Browns 2-2 effectively voiding them from Bridgewater.
Giants 0-4.

Can't imagine ANY analyst or ANY fan anywhere would've ever predicted either of those things. Maybe the Browns 2-2, but Giants 0-4? DAFUQ?

Uh, I think you meant 0-4, unless you are mixing things up by changing it to L-W in sports! I applaud you for such innovation.

But yah... just saw Steelers first 0-4 since 1968. Dang!

I am not suprised by their defense, they were good last year and added key pieces. I am just shocked they are 2-2 with the starting QB Hoyer. They are tied for the divison lead.

On paper the 49ers were overwhelmingly the best team in this league coming into this season. A few weeks in and they're not even the best team in their division.

Personally, I expected status quo from the Titans and am delighted to be very surprised about that too!

Ummm No. That is not true. But not surprised your first comment in the nfl general board since slinking away after the 49ers won on Thursday is a dig at the niners.

Most folks were predicting a Seattle/Denver superbowl before the season started. Seattle and San Fran were marked as the best NFC teams far and away as well.

But as breaker pointed out, the 49ers were not overwhelmingly the best team in the league. Them being 2-2 is a little shock, but hardly one for 49ers fans to be worried about. 2-2 means nothing. I think Seattle's 05 season when they went to the SBOWL they started 2-2 as well.

0-4 Giants... being outscored like 69-7 in the last two games... good lord.

Stop bustin' my balls. LOL. I had a brain fart like Matt Schaub.

Yeah, the Steelers are doing terrible. They're worse than I thought. They can't even beat the Vikings.

I think you're exaggerating. In readings articles going into this season, I got the sense that the media had the Niners and Seahawks as 1 and 2 with a good number of sports writers ranking the Seahawks as #1.

Seriously? How is being surprised your team only won two games bashing them?

I still believe San fransisco will win that division. Seattle will have a tough stretch as well at some point.

I was most wrong about the Titans, Redskins, Steelers and Giants.

I actually picked the Steelers to make the playoffs in my predictions thread because I thought they were sandbagging in the preseason

Seattle's tough stretch is week 10. They have:

@ Atlanta
Minnesota (k prob. not but AP can go off)
New Orleans
@ San Fran

3 of those games are very losable despite the CLINK being how it is... that said, San Fran has hardly had a 'tough stretch'.

Green Bay
@ Seattle
Indy
@ St. Louis

The first two are hard. The other 2 should've been winnable. Getting clown stomped like they did against Indy was inexcusable.
