I have no more idea than you do whether or not the Bronco's will win any Superbowls anytime soon. I plan to enjoy watching them play for however long they play through the season.
You may have noticed I don't "rock" any avatar, as I'm not really into avatar games, and that isn't likely to change anytime soon.

:omg: Denver fans getting punked :laugh3:

Peyton Manning is overrated. Best regular season QB ever yea. Once the postseason comes though... most playoff losses by a QB and 9(?) one and dones don't lie. Won't be surprised if they have the best rec. Will be surprised if they have postseason success.

Playoff wins are a stupid stat for QBs. If we ranked QBs by playoff win %, Mark Sanchez would be a top 5 QB.

Peyton Manning's quarterback rating in his playoff losses (starting with the most recent and going back): 88.3, 108.7, 88.5, 90.4, 97.7, 90.9, 69.3, 35.5, 31.2, 82.0, 63.2
Early in his career he had some rough games, but in most of those losses, it's hard to pin it on his play.

Joe Flacco has a playoff WIN where he went 4 for 10 for 32 yards and an INT.

I'll bet you too buddy. Put up or shut up.

I don't give a shit what pic you or I or anyone else posts. The stupid shit posted in this thread is mind numbing, though, so you are a significant contributor. Can't believe that people who seem to care so much about football know so little about the game to not understand that football is a team sport and that having one of the greatest of all time QBs on your team is an asset. Like I posted several pages back, I listened to a lot of people say that Elway couldn't lead a team to a championship before he finally did so -- twice! Will PMFM lead the Broncos to another SB win, something he's already done once with Indy? I know that I don't know the answer to that question, but I'm not ignorant enough to say that it's not possible or even that there is reason to think that it is as likely as any other possible outcome to the season.

I would put Brady and Brees above Peyton too. Peyton does this every year. Put up great stats in the regular season against shitty teams. Then he won't show up in the playoffs. One of the most overrated QBs of all time.

Eh...the whole Peyton doesn't show up come playoff time theory has been overused by people.

Look at last year...was that necessarily Peyton's fault that they lost? He drove for the gw td to put them up with less than a minute left. Then the defense gives up an inexplicable deep pass for the td.

2010 Peyton played an excellent game in a defensive battle against the Jets. He put them up with less than a minute left. Then the Colts gave up two bad passes to Mark Sanchez and lose on a field goal.

2009 they lost in the Superbowl. Another well played game by Peyton. Colts had it. Saints just wanted it more. Outdid them with that onside kick. Took more risks.

2008...Peyton played well enough to win. Had the lead once again with a few minutes left. Their defense gives up a drive for the game tying fg. Then defense gives up a td run to sproles in OT.

2007...Peyton played a good game. Moved the ball up and down the whole game throwing 3 tds. Threw two early picks...one I believe was a bad tip that was out of his control but still a pick. So you can say maybe Peyton's fault...but still Peyton put the Colts in position to win with the lead and San Diego wins it late in the 4th.

2006 Superbowl Win

2005 Tough tough loss to the Steelers. You remember that game? Where Vanderjagt didn't miss all year and then misses a fg to tie the game up?

2004 and before that...yeah Peyton had some bad games where he threw multiple picks. Those losses were all on him. But since 05...Peyton has just had some unfortunate luck in the playoffs.

Spot on, and you know whats funny? The Denver D looks very pedestrian again this year. High likelihood of history repeating itself

No shit football is a team sport, but the QB's get all the glory and take all the falls which is exactly why you guys are declaring a strong run, because of your new QB. No one in Denver was talking about going to the SB with Tebow (even though he actually won a game but I digress). And no one said it wasn't possible.

Bet stands for anyone willing to take it. It's just a fucking avatar. It's just for fun.

Nothing can stop the Peyton(Broncos) hype train even when he goes one and done for the 9th time. We'll still have to here how he's the goat from his homers. They don't care about championships or playoff records just regular season stats and mvp awards.

If you're expecting ESPN and the networks to stop sucking on his schlong 27/7, don't hold your breath. Take a look at how many commercials he's on from companies that pay for primetime advertising on those networks. It's going to be a Peyton fest non-stop this year.

Remember the hysteria levels of coverage the sports networks gave Farve the last couple years he was in the league? This will be exactly the same. Actually worse because he's on a team that is deep playoff caliber. When these guys are in the last couple years of their careers, the press invents every storyline they can to pimp them.

Don't expect that to stop this Sunday either when they face an Eagles team with the one of the worst rankings for pass defense in the league. It's going to be another passing clinic.

I also dont care what Peyton did or didnt do before becoming the QB for the
Bronco's
You should. Player's don't change much just because they come to a different city.

Would you be this excited and acting like a pompous dick if Matt Flynn were to come on over to Denver and be the starting QB?

And your whole "football is a team game" is horse shit. Yes, of course it's a team game. But like Rob said, the QB gets all the praise in wins and all the fault in losses. There's no doubt Peyton is a very good QB, but the argument is that he doesn't fair well in playoff games, in spite of his lone SB win. That isn't to say he CAN'T win another SB, but that his history suggests it is more likely he will be one-and-done than to make another SB.

That is such a simplistic argument. Peyton doesn't play lights out in the playoffs, but he plays well overall... and better than most. Brady is 7-7 in his last 14 and worse statistically over the course of his career than Peyton. Rodgers "isn't clutch and can't win from behind". Brees has only played in 9 total playoff games over his long career and is barely over .500 (2-4 outside of the Super Bowl year).

I guess that leaves us wanting either Eli or Flacco as our quarterback. People are way too quick to discount the role of luck and the other 52 players on the team.

Isn't this a Classic Peyton Manning Season?
Run up a bunch of regular season wins
Look sharp and unstoppable in the process
Watch Manning Minnions to beat their chests silly
Rack up some new records
and then lay an egg in the playoffs.

Peyton already has EIGHT of these one-and-done's in the bank.

That's why I enjoy watching people get an erection that lasts an entire regular season, only to come up limp before the finish.

Lol, it's always New England fans or people with Michigan icons making the really terrible arguments. I'm trying to think of a connection here... Don't be jealous of the GOAT, guys!

You are the guy making all the counter-arguments and comparisons.

All I did was present the historically accurate record.

Their first challenge will come next week in Dallas. I think they win that game but I'm almost certain that they won't look nearly as dominant as they've looked in the first 3 weeks

Denver is fun team to watch. They have great fans a great NFL history and I will always give them credit as the first AFC team in over ten years to break through and win the Superbowl.

Manning is a great QB. Fun to watch. Precision. Excellence.

What sucks is all the Manning ballwashers, no necessarily affiliated with the Broncos (or Colts) who spend far too much time trying to sell everyone else on the legend of Manning.

If you are Steeler fan, you have 2 wins under Rothlisberger (and almost a 3rd)
Patriot fan, 3 wins
Giant fan, 2 recent wins and a great franchise
Packers fan, 1 win and a huge upside
Baltimore fan 1 win and very solid team
Saints fan 1 win and in the discusson
RGIII, Kaepernick, or Wilson fan -- you may own the next decade

but there has never been a group of troll fans more obnoxious than the Peyton Manning Fan Boys

I feel sorry for Peyton... and I understand the Bronco fans are not same group of front-runner icon-worshipers as these clowns are.

That's a good post, Ron, but I think that the bolded part is in the wrong thread. Read that, read the thread title, and tell me that there isn't a very stark disconnect between the two. There is not one post in this thread claiming that Manning and the Broncos will win the SB. Rather, some moron started a thread suggesting that he knows that that won't happen and then a few like minded ninnies jumped in to support that logically unsupportable claim. Not the first time it's happened and surely not the last.

There would be nothing wrong if you thought Denver will win the SB this year.....i understand you're just trying to be realistic and anything can happen but i have no problems with fans thinking their team can win the SB. Its okay to have confidence in your team. I thought the ravens would win last year turns out i was correct, i think the Ravens can repeat and i'm not giving up yet, i don't think that makes me unrealistic, it makes me a fan.
