Don't look now but the Ravens defense has been playing great the last two weeks. In two game the opposing teams (Browns and Texans) have only scored 15 total points. If it wasn't for the Denver game the Ravens defense would be considered on of the best in the NFL.

I don't think they can maintain this current level of play but if they are even close to this level the rest of the year it's going to be another good year, and make them SB contenders again.

Ravens defense has not allowed a touchdown in eight quarters since a season-opening 49-27 defeat in Denver.

After scoring seven touchdowns in their first two games, the Texans were limited to three field goals by the Ravens D

Ed Reed warned his teammates how great the Ravens D is:

"Baltimore has a great defense," Reed said. "I told the guys (on offense) coming into this game, defensively they're going to know every move that you're making, everything that you're doing."

I don't think the Ravens are as bad as week 1 or as good as they have looked since. Probably somewhere in between, not middle of the pack but not elite anymore either. Top 5 in the conference though and that is good enough.

Is it just me or does anyone else just not trust the Texans? We talk about the lower teams and their QB's but does anyone really think Schaub can lead this franchise to the promised land? I don't see it.

For being considered one of the top 3 teams in the AFC heading into the season they definitely have looked pretty weak so far. They had 2 come from behind victories against 2 pretty weak teams overall and then lost in a blowout. Usually not the look of a champion but the season is early. They have all the pieces to be a good team (don't know about elite) in a decent quarterback (Schaub won't win you a ton of games but he won't lose them either), great running attack, great OL, looking like great 1-2 punch at receiver, and a good TE on offense. On defense they have quite a few stars as well so there is no reason this team should be struggling this much. Sometimes for teams it takes a beat down like this past Sunday to wake them up a bit. I guess for me I will hold out judgment on how they will do for a few more weeks.

Yeah, when you look at the talent on the Texans, you think this team is a sure bet. The QB just needs to manage it, not be a superstar. It's just that even disregarding only 3 games in, they have underachieved in the play-offs the last couple years too. I don't know, just from the eye test, something isn't right. I'm not sure that Indy doesn't win the division and make Houston the WC.

Yea, i don't really consider them come from behind victories considering they took the lead from Cleveland in the 3rd quarter and took the lead from Houston in the second quarter. technically they were come from behinds wins, well because the Ravens were losing at one point. I think the reason for the slow start was a chemistry issue and we are working that out, and playing well. Offense still has some issues but i can't complain about the Ravens defense since week one.

If you read the post, it was obvious that it was about Houston.....perhaps you can change your reading comprehension to suit the 21st century ??

yeah, we got a little side tracked mcro. That is my fault, I asked the question about the Texans. More of a point of how Houston comes in and lays an egg, albeit against a solid Ravens D. Nothing against the Ravens but it really isn't a big surprise. The defense is still really good as I stated. Week 1 is what it is.
