Kap is better than Smith - I've seen every game both of them ever played in the pros - and I'm one of the bigger Smith fans around. But the last few games have helped highlight some of Smith's strengths, things that he does that help the team win that don't necessarily produce big stats.....granted it took him years to learn these things. But don't make stupid plays, no turnovers, short passes are effective, don't always need to score but at least try not to give the other team good field position. And the running backs performed much better under him, guessing he helps them with adjustments.

The kid hasn't even got a full season under his belt. Let's give this some time to see if he can get the smarts to match the tools. SF isn't going to sit the kid for McCoy. Let's be realistic. If Harbaugh did that, I would question his tenuous hold on sanity even further. Let's see how this plays out. I don't think he is the week 1 QB and not this weeks QB. His whole team has to play better than they have the last couple weeks and he needs his receivers to get healthy, namely Crabtree and Davis. They also need to get Gore going to take the pressure off. And the D needs to stop the run and get off the field.
