Broncos have 90 points in 2 games. Are they peaking too soon or do the Giants just suck?

Too soon to say. Doesn't really matter anyway until the playoffs start. We learned that last year, if not before then. Neither the defending champs nor NYG have been too impressive over the first two weeks.

Too soon to say,i think they took advantage of a Ravens defense that is not in sync yet, and the Giants just don't have a good defense. They do look mighty impressive but i just think this level of play is too much to sustain through the entire season and post season. Plus we are talking about Peyton Manning and he'll find a way to choke in the post season again.

I don't know about that. Eli has always been kind of inconsistent, the Giants couldn't run the ball, and the Denver offense is pretty prolific.

Peyton has to prove he can win games in December before anyone can label the Broncos as the best. But early predictions are safe to say they are at the top of the NFL.

That's an observation that many fans hang their hats on, while conveniently ignoring some relevant evidence,

DEN is the class of the AFC...I think they will win the west by 2 games at least.

But...they're not as good as they've looked on DEF...BAL @ home was an impressive game. NYG is looking rather ragged again (time for "fire Coughlin" rumors to light a fuse for them) Secondly...when the winter weather hits these scores are going to come way down.

The Broncos are clearly very good, the question is how good... they have yet to face a good defense playing well... Until then it is hard to really know if they are better than they were last season... No matter what they are the favorites to win their division and the favorites to be the nuber one seed in the AFC... I wont say they are favorites to win the SB because i dont think it means anything...

Prolific and impressive. They have a very high level of intensity going on there.

That's the thing, they are looking real solid on both sides of the ball. Can they keep it up is the question.

Yes, they are the best team in the AFC. Too many weapons to cover and Peyton Manning is the GOAT at QB

My guess is he is talking about how Peyton has a top 10 QBR in NFL history in the playoffs yet his team still loses. Usually shows if a quarterback is able to do that and still lose that usually the talent around him needs to be looked at more than the quarterback himself. The Colts have shown that they really didn't do the best with the talent that they tried to surround Peyton with. They gave him some nice Offensive Weapons but for most of his career he had a pretty pathetic defense to compliment him. They worked well when the team was playing with a lead because they had some decent pass rushers but against the better teams in the league that could still run it later in the game that defense crumbled.

just goes to show that stats are meaningless, same old argument but the bottom line is it comes down to winning and losing. :suds:

Good point rave, but I think the whole Peyton chokes in the post season is somewhat overrated.

Yes...they will keep it up to the tune of maybe 13-3...and that might be enough for homefield thru out.

Good luck tonight, this game is crucial to paint the overall picture of AFCN, looks like a good game.

I agree that stats can only tell so much of the story but with Peyton I think you really do have to look at the whole picture. Such as in the playoffs Peyton has been a part of 3 overtime games yet has lost all 3 coin tosses. Now according to NFL statistics the team that wins the coin toss in overtime wins 60% of the time...Peyton has lost all 3 of those games. He has also lost by his kicker missing a game tying and game winning field goal so that is 2 more losses. He has also gotten what I would consider the bad luck draw in his career especially compared to that of Tom Brady. Defensive rankings on average for Peyton has been that in the playoffs he has faced on average the number 7 ranked defense in the NFL where Tom Brady has faced on average around the 10th best defense in the NFL yet Peyton has put up the better QBR of the two. Somehow though Brady is considered the better playoff quarterback based solely on winning and nothing else.

So again if you just take Peyton Manning and what he has done for his team in the playoffs compared to others greats throughout history most would consider Peyton one of the greats all-time (which most still do) but they would even consider him a great playoff quarterback.
