I don't think you can make that assertion anymore. His talent level now, with all of the injuries he's had, is not what it was when he was a rookie. Even when he's "healthy" now, he has lost a step and doesn't run with the same power he used to with his shoulder issues. He is also not in a good offense for him to flourish, as the box will be stacked quite a bit. I'd say the only other "starting" RBs I'd take DMC over at this point would be whomever starts for the Jets, Cardinals, Chargers and Colts.
We'll have to agree to disagree. The only argument against DMC is his injury history. And for the record, Lisfranc injuries are terrible and a long road to recovery. DMC is 3 years removed from a 1700 yard (total) season. In 2011, was on his way to leading the league in everything before that dreaded injury. CJ's "comeback" season last year was middle of the pack. If (and I know it's the biggest if in the NFL, and the main reason for your argument), but if DMC plays a full season, he will not be a middle of the pack RB.
Tennessee's offense is no different than Oakland's when it comes to opposing defenses keying on someone.
And as for the Jets, Cards, Bolts and Colts, that's your decision, but there's a reason DMC doesn't fall to the middle rounds like they do, even with his injury history. I guess we'll have to see what happens.
