Amendola should excel in the slot for the Pats but of course he has durability issues. I think the Patriots offense allows for anyone with decent speed and a good set of hands to step onto the field and look good.

This is what makes Tom so great.

Agreed. Same thing I and others have bee saying about the seahawks.:suds:

How exactly are those two things comparable at this time?

Seattle has proven much more to this point as far as being a quality team, than Amendola has proven in regards to staying healthy. It would make sense if he was coming off a complete and effective season and people wanted to see if he could do it again, but he's not.

Seattle got hot towards the end of the year, still had some problems winning outside their own stadjum (remember miami)? and its questionable if they would have even had a chance to play atlanta in the playoffs if RGIII handn't got hurt.

Yup, its pretty much exactly the same thing and exactly the same thing could happen to how seattle or amondola's season this year ends up when all is said and done.

3. Amendola was a pain in the 49ers' ass, so I know he can play. And he had a crappy QB in St. Louis, and now he has a HOF QB (on a team with basically no other receivers unless Dobson flies out of the blocks). So he should be good for a 1000 yard season.

wait wait wait totally uncalled for, if it wasn't for that qb in st. louis, Danny wouldn't have gotten the ball in the first place.

Look lets face it the kid can move the chains, that wasn't the problem in stl. Its his health thats the issue here. Heck, he almost died on 1 hit.

A WR who's never had 700 yards in a season is a nobody.

That's not because he sucks, that's because he hasn't stayed healthy. He's not exactly some random bum tgat Brady is about to make a star. All this guy has needed was a good situation and some luck with his health.

Oh, come on man..... Seattle's ability as a team is in much less doubt than Amendola's ability to stay on the field. You could make all the arguments that you want against Seattle, but you'd be hard pressed to make some arguments in favor of Amendola's health.

I am not questioning that seattle is a pretty talented team, they are certainly that. All I am saying is that they are going to have to do more of what they did last year to prove to the rest of us that they are one of the best teams in the nfl at this point. Every year there are teams that look like they are ready to take it to the next level and just don't for whatever reason

Also, I very much doubt anyone questions amandola's ability, the question is can he stay on the field. If he can, he is going to be an extremely dangerous weapon.

On both....we will just have to see.

Your correct. It's more Tom Brady and the offensive scheme then the slot guy. What was Wes Welker before NE? Nothing, now he's considered the best slot WR of all time. Amendola will be a star if he can play 16 games.

Sorry, but I've never thought Sam Bradford was any good. And he's running out of time to prove me wrong.

That's totally fair. At this point Seattle needs to prove that they can sustain high quality of play, I understand that.

But Amendola needs to prove that he can stay healthy or at least play through injury. If he did last year and needed to prove this year that he can sustain it than I would see the parallels of your comparison.

And no, I dont doubt his ability.

Season hasn't even started. Lets see him stay healthy all year before you start patting yourself on the back. The "can't stay on the field" is why the Rams let him go else where.
Or maybe they had their eyes set on a two TE set and had Austin Pettis or Tavon Austin in their sights to use instead, at a much lower $$.

As a pats fan, I would have much preferred welker. But Amandola will be fine.

Its who is throwing to him Nyfan. I think you get that but just don't want to accept it.
It's a two way street, if the WR are dropping balls Tom wont look so good, right?

You're mad that Amendola is going to go from a nobody to a star now with the Patriots.
As others have said, not a nobody otherwise they wouldn't be giving the dude so much money to sign, or maybe you just don't get it.

Crappy QB FU NinerSickness!! and I meant that from the heart of my bottom!

So everyone of the WR corp should look good right?

Sorry, but I've never thought Sam Bradford was any good. And he's running out of time to prove me wrong.
We will see, and yet you've got this new kid in town surrounded by talent, let's see what this guy does with a little tape on his arse.

Health is the issue with Danny however, isn't it the major issue with all players in the NFL? Even the smallest dudes can get hurt often yet some of the bigger dudes get hurt too. Don't the Pats have a big TE that can't stay on the field healthy?

You know if Welker's ACL injury happens any earlier in the year it happened, he would have missed as much time as Amendola...

Yeah I'm not as worried about his health as most others.

Imo, his problem was that with him and Jackson on the field, teams could play the Rams at the LOS without any real threat of having a player get behind them. I dont think his health was a reason why we chose to move on. A real need for any speed on our offense was the reason we moved on.
