Rivers is not horrible, he could be great on a decent team.

The same could be said for Romo...Cutler I do not think is as good as even Romo and Vick* is old and not as good as a passer as the prior 3 but I would rather have running my offence than all but Rivers.

I kind of have Cutler, Rivers, Vick and Romo in the same category. They're just having fun out there.

And Bradford, Stafford, Russell, would all be in the same category. The last QB's to hit the jackpot & UNDERACHIEVE before the rookie cap was put in place....

Let go? He was a free agent and had a torn labrum. With Rivers on the bench they wouldn't go as high as the Saints on guaranteed money. They did offer him a contract.

Yeah he's struggled the past two years with one of the 2-3 worst O-lines in football. And Brees led the league in INTs last year without Payton. Even the best need help.

A few years ago I would have put Rivers in the top 5. He's still top 10.

Well Rivers does not fit in in San Diego anymore its a different team. He should have left or asked to be traded. Why would SD keep him around instead of start fresh where other QBS are eager to play. Rivers does not have that mindset and I think he knows his team isnt going far. Also, SD isnt sold out and they are constantly talked about going to LA. That has to be another distraction, to know that your team isnt staying in San Diego. SD would be smart to trade Rivers before the deadline. I have a feeling Rivers is gonna ask for one anyway.

Rivers is still a good QB, but needs some protection. This is a critical year to demonstrate he is still a top 10 QB.
