First off, what does what Jim Buss said just before the firing have to do with whether or not Brown should have scrapped the Princeton offense when the Lakers got Nash and Howard? The bottom line is that the offense he chose to stick with, didn't match the personnel that he now had.

Also, it's not as if Brown was the first coach in the history of sports to get the dreaded "vote of confidence" before he got fired.

As for what YOU think happened: :omg: You blame Kobe!! What a shock!! I'm sure that everyone who read that just passed out from the shock of you blaming Kobe!! Kobe was publicly supportive of Brown right up to the end!! Of course, now you'll say that Kobe was only saying what he HAD to say!!

You really are a one trick pony!![/QUOTE

And please quit playing the lame and incorrect 'he hates Kobe' card, because it isn't the case.
I just call things as I see them. Doesn't mean I'm right or wrong, but at least its coming from what I know is an honest point of view.

Didn't I write this about Kobe, in a repsonse to you on the 'Kobe overrated' thread?

Seriously though, good post and well stated!! To be fair re: the MJ/Kobe comparisons, Kobe fueled some of it earlier in his career by stating that he wanted to be considered better than MJ and by copying so much of his game and mannerisms!!

As he's gotten older, he's moved away from much of that, but he did "feed the monster" in his younger days!!

"Not all Heat fans.
My opinion on this thread was that Kobe was one of the best, most fun to watch players of all time. "

It's no different then what's going on with Beasley.
As much as I like him, I'm not going to disagree with all of the negative things that are being written about him, because they appear to be true.

Can you clean this up so it's legible? You really need to learn the quotebox function!!

From what I am able to make out from the mess above I'll say this. Just because you think a player is a great player and fun too watch, doesn't mean you like him. It just means that you can at least acknowledge greatness when you see it.

I am the same way about Lebron (as I was with MJ and Bird). Don't/didn't like any of them, but can still admit that they are/were great players and fun to watch!!

As for Beasley, pot busts and crappy play are a lot different than a "glare"!!

You are spinning. You accused me of disliking Kobe even though I have never said anything of the sort.
I have been critical of him several times, but that is based on opinions of games or situations.
How any times have I been critical of Wade? I would say just as many or more.

Sure doesn't mean that I don't like him or any less appreciate all he has done for the Heat.

Idiotic is getting abused all night like you have and continuing to come back for more!

Keep trying to convince anyone that preseason games are important. Keep arguing for how many posts that the Lakers started 0-5.

Then, after getting your clock cleaned, you comeback by saying that after the Heat win a few more titles ( thank you very much) that they will go through a down decade and then you will laugh at us?

Simply brilliant stuff you dimwit!

all I'LL say is this. there's a reason everyone else cracked up laughing when Mike Brown was made coach of the Lakers...in SPITE of some fans wanting to lay all the blame on Kobe...

Uh, no I didn't!! I said that you blamed Kobe for Mike Brown getting fired (which you did) and that it was no shock because you tend to blame most Laker problems on Kobe. I never said that you didn't like him!!

Magic Johnson is my favorite player of all time, but I blame him for Paul Westhead getting fired. It just worked out well since Riley replaced him and they won 4 more titles!!

I offered my opinion that Kobe was the reason, or at least a big part of the reason Brown was fired.
All we know for sure is that Buss gave Brown his full support AFTER the Utah loss and then within a few hours, he was fired.

So you tell me, if Buss fully supported him and Kobe :-)lol:) still fully supported him, then who decided to fire him and why?

Also, what other Laker problems have I blamed Kobe for other than situations where I have felt that he has made poor team decision choices because he has way more confidence in himself to make a low% shot then trust others to make easier shots?

I never said he was to blame for Shaq being traded, etc... But I do feel that his lack of cooperation with Shaq in that series is why they lost.

coaching has no impact on a game. just ask him, he'll tell you...

You will NEVER find a post where I said coaches have no impact on the game ( unlike the situation where you said I would never find a post with you picking the Lakers to beat the Spurs).

However, players eventually determine the outcome of games/ series.

Example: The Lakers have been swept when exiting the playoffs the last 3 seasons.
That has nothing to do with coaching, it is all about the other team just having better players and kicking your ass.

On the other hand, the Heat has trailed at some point in almost every playoff series the last 2 years but found a way to come back and win everyone of them.

There were many HOF coaches on those opposing benches, correct?

So, either you are saying that Spoelstra is so superior to any of those other coaches that his decisions were the reason the Heat won, or you are agreeing that Heat won because they have the more talented roster, lead by the best player in the league and that over the course of a 7 game series, the cream just rose to the top.

LOL, still living in the past, i see. funny how YOU would criticize someone for doing that, hypocrite...

but since you'd like me to explain this YET AGAIN, picking them to honestly win is a helluva lot different than picking against them...which i'm NEVER gonna do. get it NOW? good. glad we had this little convo, dingbat...:laugh3:

when i get kicked off a sports board DO get back to me...

amazing. in all that tap-dancing your greatest "examples" are two ends of the spectrum(while maximizing the view of the Heat and simultaniously minimizing the Lakers. hardly a suprise when YOU'RE yakking). what a shock. and at the same time attempting to put words in my mouth. lol, you ARE a piece of work. so, if the talent level were closer together the coaching just MIGHT make a difference, RIGHT? LMAO you sure can spin some bullshit, little fella...

but for those of us who live on planet Earth everyone here KNEW the hire of Mike Brown was a HUGE mistake. you can sit there and blame the players as much as you like. i'm betting if PJ stayed the results more than likely would've been better for the Lakers. lol, DO keep up the good work around here...

True.
So you tell me, if Buss fully supported him and Kobe :-)lol:) still fully supported him, then who decided to fire him and why?

As I previously stated, who the hell knows why Short Buss did what he did? While it may not have been as quick, Brown is not the first coach to get a vote of confidence, only to be fired shortly afterwards. You're slipping turnup, I already explained this to you once. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that Short Buss panicked!!

Considering Dr. Buss' health, they wanted to get one more title before he passed. When he looked at a winless pre-season, a 1-4 start to the regular season and a team trying to run an offense that clearly didn't fit the personnel, he fired Mike Brown. I don't know if that's the reason, but it makes a hell of alot more sense than "he got fired because Kobe 'glared' at him"!!

Also, what other Laker problems have I blamed Kobe for other than situations where I have felt that he has made poor team decision choices because he has way more confidence in himself to make a low% shot then trust others to make easier shots?

Shaq leaving and Dwight leaving.

I never said he was to blame for Shaq being traded, etc... But I do feel that his lack of cooperation with Shaq in that series is why they lost.

Yes you did. Many times back on cbs.

I don't mind a weeks ban for standing up for myself.
Much rather do that then be a suck up like you are.

Anyway, I do remember quite well, you having your reputation points reduced on CBS for racist/homophobic comments and then writing a letter to the administrator begging to have them restored.

How many games in a row did the Heat win one and then lose one?

Didn't the last 2 series for them go 7 games?

THAT means the talent was very close.

While I agree that Pops made more poor decisions then Spoelstra did over the 7 games, the wins and losses came down to players missing or making shots.

If you don't believe me, watch the film of the Spurs missing FT's and then watch the film of James making a 3 followed by Allen draining the game tying 3 at the buzzer.
