i think in coverage the young guys amerson , chase and rambo did very well

the run game was a little different

Pass rush and better coverage. Plus we couldn't stop the run. Don't need to pass when you can constantly run. But it's preseason and that will likely (hopefully) improve.

Tennessee had two huge drops in the game, also Orakpo was more at fault for CJ's touchdown run. At that point any FS would have gotten cooked in the open field.

I just like that we won, and with more starters in for game 2, it will be easier to see where the defense is.

guys, we need to give up the ghost on Tanard Jackson.

He hasnt played ball in over a year. And honestly who do we cut to make a roster spot for him?? Thomas and Rambo are going to make roster. Merriweather is going to make roster. And I just dont see them releasing Doughty to bring Jackson back. And there is no way we can carry 11 DBs considering we will likely carry 5 RBs and 4 TEs.. and thats also taking into account we only carry 5 WRs. there just isnt another spot I see where we could go light to bring this guy back in.

Jordan reed is a TE, not a WR.

We carry 4 TE Davis, Paulsen, Paul, Reed
5 RB Morris, Helu, Thompson, Jamison, Young (The other rookie will go to the practice squad)

Again I dont see where we go light in order to bring Jackson back onto the active roster. And the only way we carry more than 5 WR is to only carry two QBs

Actually the Patriots carried 4 TEs last year, And you dont base your roster off of the number of players at a particular position. You base it off of talent and what you need FROM that position. We carried 7 WR last year, and eight the year before. Davis is coming back off injury, Paulsen is the only consistent blocking Te on the roster. Paul is a Shanahan project so for him to get cut, he will basically have to outright suck, or get caught screwing Shanahans wife. And we just drafted Reed.

So yea, odds are we will carry 4 TE's.

The only major questions we have roster wise right now are

1. Do we carry 3 QB's?
2. If we carry 3 QBs does White have a shot at taking Rexy's roster spot
3. Does Chase make roster
4. If Chase makes roster do we carry 5 or 6 CBs?
5. Who wins the RT battle.

But its a pretty safe bet that we carry 4 RBs and a FB. Its just a matter of if Royster makes roster, or does he lose his spot to one of the rookies.

where do i begin ? reed is a TE , Paul can play WR so you get 2 spots for one . now tell me exactly how are a 5th rounder and a 7th rounder not making the team can be considered wastes of picks ?

this isnt the crap talented teams of yore .

As the talent increases on this team it will become harder for draft picks to make the team. Since when is any team supposed to hit on 100% of their draft choices. From everything I have heard about Reed the coaching staff is very high on him but he is still recovering from injury. The good news is they have three guys they can use and not rush the kid.
