Yeah feliz never threw that fast though, 100 tops and that was extremely rare and when he was still in the minors

I remember when he was called up he threw up to 102. Threw 101 to Austin Jackson in the ALCS

Interesting, I don't recall that

Looked it up and it said he threw 103 in 2010...

Well he obviously couldn't sustain like Chapman can, those pitches were few and far between

It remember he threw 99, 101, 99 to strike out Jackson. But yeah he did get up to 103. How far is he away from returning?

He's certainly not someone to be counted on for meaningful innings, as a guy that had little command before, that's usually the last thing to return after TJ surgery, you'll probably see an uptick in his velocity back up to around 100, but he won't be able to throw it where he wants

Well that can hardly be considered a good thing ... especially if you are batting against him.

The thing about Feliz though at the outset was that his 4-seam had about the same amount of movement at Yu's did in the first inning last night. Sure hope he concentrates not so much on being a fireball as he rehabs but in getting more movement in offspeed stuff.

What are the odds that Feliz is back as closer for 2014?
