Almost zero chance that AZ will be #2 in the AP on Monday. Zona will and should drop more than one spot for losing at Cal especially considering the injury. Florida will almost certainly be #2 considering the fact that they've just added a great player, plus beat the ever loving dogshit out of aTm Saturday. For once, the only thing you actually got right is Cuse being #1. I guess Dad was right. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while.

Yeah, looks like I missed the boat on that one. I'll still take my track record over johnny zero's.

And I still stand by my assessment that Zona shouldn't be ranked #2 right now. If they had lost a player for the game, not the season, I might understand, but if any ther team in the poll went on the road and lost to an unranked team (even at a "tough" venue.... aren't they all tough?) tey'd drop more than one spot. I'm not sure why Zona gets the special treatment now.

oh come on.....after your comments no way you should get off that easy.

I do believe an apology is in order and a "I am wrong you were right" would also be appropriate. That was the 2nd major thing you proven to be wrong about this weekend (coach K/unprecedented).

sorry Trolly but how is it "special treatment"? We have one loss, on the road against the 3rd best team in our conference. Should Florida with its two losses jump us? I say no. That loss is on par with Florida's loss to Uconn, both were on the road, both with buzzer beaters, both against decent but not great teams. Biggest difference is that one is a conference road loss, one is a nonconference road loss. Which type of loss is more acceptable? I don't know, but i'd say the one against a conference foe that knows you well probably is.

As somebody else said before, we will drop in the polls if the loss of Ashley leads to more unexpected losses, but one loss does not deserve an overreaction IMO

STFU, at least he admits it when he got something wrong. You, on the other hand, try to twist the argument so that it still seems like you are right. Please stop commenting in the Pac-12 thread, we are all losing a piece of our soul every time we have to read the shit that spews off of your fingers and onto our screens

I agree with both you and trolly.

In terms of resume on paper, I put Arizona at least #2, and you could make the argument for #1.
In terms of a poll, who is the better team right now, I would understand a 3 or 4 ranking. There is just a bit of an unknown with Ashley going down right now, until they play out the next couple weeks.

because I am rarely wrong. Trolly called me out on 2 different things this weekend. went around busting my balls on both of them (one of them across multiple threads) and he was proven wrong on both of them.

And both times it was over crap that had nothing to do with him. he just chimed in on a post of mine, went for the insult.

sorry but "I missed the boat on that one" doesn't cut it.........

Ghey.......:yahoo: Seriously, everybody hated this guy over at ESPN. Can't we make a request to the MODS here to ban him forever?

I guess someone is just sour about my comments towards the b12. (which are true)

As mentioned in the original "who's gonna be #1" thread, I don't think a team should ever get leapfrogged when they didn't lose, unless something extraordinary happened. But in this case, Zona did lose and they lost a key player for the season. On the flip side, you have Florida who looks to be out Kentuckying Kentucky, with their youth finally starting to click late in the season, and the just added a key player into the rotation.

While I don't think that Zone is going to hit the skids in any big way (they'll likely remain a top 5 team the rest of the season) it looks to me like Florida is gaining momentum big time, and Zona lost a lot of steam.

I get the resume argument, and I think that is why they are still #2, but I just don't think you should ignore player injuries (or anything for that matter) but that's what makes the pols great... there really aren't many rules or guidelines for voting, and the AP voters can use whatever criteria they want.

You get banned all the time b/c nobody likes you. Take a hint and leave dude. You ruin good conversation all the time.

(even at a "tough" venue.... aren't they all tough?)

They definitely are not all tough. I think the difficulty of venue has to do with the size of the crowd, and the difficulty of the team. The combination is what makes the environment hostile. And even if you are just focusing on the actual venue, and not the team, then not all road games are created equally.

Take SU playing at Cassell Coliseum against UVT. That place holds 10k, and only 4k bothered to show up for the game. Or take the Bankunited Center in Miami: place only holds 8k, but 7k showed up for the game there against SU. Then you have the AZ game at Haas, and the place was sold out at 12k, and it was a "Gold Out". The game before against Stanford holds only 7k, although it was sold out. I'm not going to make a big deal out of everyone in Berkeley wearing the same color shirt, but it does show that it is without a doubt the most important game there this season, and the fans know it. I know I'm only picking on SU in terms of showing examples of venues that are less than tough, but I'm just trying to show that if the place doesn't even sell out, the crowd is probably not as into the game as if it were; especially when it's a half capacity.

But when you have a sold out game, on the road, and everyone in attendance knows that it's their biggest game in years, it's going to be a tough venue. Add to that a top 50 team that can beat you in their own house, and it's a hostile environment.

I can go either was on them being #2. It wouldn't have surprised me if they were #3 to FL, but I don't think they should have fallen beyond that. If you look at their body of work, it's still among the very very best, so I think that until the injury to Ashley actually manifests into losses, that they shouldn't be punished on how the potential of the loss factors in.

the injury is huge, but i think that's exactly why we have to wait and see what effect it has on us. If it is clearly a huge factor and we don't play well down the stretch, I am 100% in favor of our seed in the tourney representing what our prospects are at the time of the tourney (ie Kentucky missing the tourney last year because of Noel's injury). I just think that, because the committee can do that, it's perfectly fine at this point in the season to rank us according to our resume.

Fixed that for you.

As far as I know he's already been relegated to 2nd tier status by the mods, for some PM shenanigans, and they clearly don't care for him much either, so I don't think it would take much at this point. And considering his track record on other boards (pretty much banned every where else too) It certainly wouldn't be unprecedented. <-- (Note the proper use of that word, slapdick.)

That being said, I have no idea what steps you have to take to get somebody the axe around here. Nor do I really care. Personally, I kind of enjoy making a mockery of the little piss ant.

you could hear SU chants on the TV for miami, WF, vtech,& BC

the running joke is "every game is not a true road game for cuse" and there is actually a lot of truth to that statement

there are arizona chants at every road game, because just like 'Cuse we have great fans who travel. Doesn't mean it's not a tough environment for the kids to play in.

And for the record, you bring up this "running joke" thing all the time and nobody cares/agrees with you so just let it go. it's like ESPN one time forgot to put the @ symbol next to the NCST when listing syracuse's games and you have used it for 5 years to try and make some strange argument that the world is wrong about the 'Cuse playing road games
