So who did ya pick and in what order it might give some newbie some insight on how to draft. And why you picked that way.

I had the 12th pick in our draft I was last so I started with the 12th & 13th pick

#12 Matt Forte
#13 Steven Jackson ( I could of went Drew Brees but I wanted to pick up a running QB later in the draft)

#36 Colin Kapernick ( and hence 22 picks later I get him)
#37 Wes Welker ( Receivers were going fast here RB's were basically done)

# 60 James Jones ( Sleeper for me)
#61 Russell Wilson ( He was the best available to me at this point I wanted another RB but I figured I could find a starter a little later )

#84 TY Hilton ( I didn't understand why he was projecting this low. It blew my mind but whatever I got a diamond here at 84)
#85 Giovani Bernard (He will start for this team)

#108 Daniel Owens ( Best Available)
#109 Packers Defense ( I think I was a little late on picking a defense I really wanted the 49ers here but no chance)

#132 Santana Moss ( Once again at this time best available to me)
#133 Texans Defense

#156 Blair Walsh ( I hate kickers but he was here. I think he had the most attempts last year and that's what I based my pick on was most FG Att's)
#157 Fred Davis (Needed a bye week TE)

There ya have it my 2013 FFb pick for my team enjoy!:suds:

Okay, I'll give you my opinion on it.

You started out quite well, given your draft position. SJAX and Forte will probably bookend rounds 1&2 in A LOT of drafts this year. Keapernick in the third/fourth may have been a reach, but if he's the guy you wanted, he wouldn't have been there in the fifth. I really don't like Welker as your #1 WR..even if this is a PPR league. Would be interested to know who else was left to chose from. James Jones is a very solid pick, especially with Greg Jennings no longer in town, it'll always be a crapshoot as to which of the three GB WR's has the big game, but all three are capable and are easily WR2 material.

Now, the round six pick of Russel Wilson is probably the worst pick you made all draft. Not because Wilson is a bad choice, but because you burned two reasonably high picks on Qb's, and most likely can only start one every week. My choice would've been for another WR, given that I don't like Welker, or the best TE available, and then grab a Romo, Dalton, Eli, Big Ben-type later in the draft. QB is exceptionally heavy this year, and blowing two early picks is a big risk IMHO.

Hilton and Bernard, should both be fine #3's. Alhtough it remains to be seen as to how much quality time Bernard sees. rookie Rb's are notorious for not playing on passing downs, and BJGE is still a reliable short yardage/goalline option. But, i'd be surprised in Bernard isn't the Bengals "starter" by week 1.

Owen Daniels is a decent enough TE, not a guy I would want to run out there every week, but there are worse options. Like I mentioned before, probably should've tried to fill this spot before the second QB. As for the Packers defense..I'm confused as to how your league works, the Niners were already gone, but the Texans lasted another 2 rounds?!?! Your first move going into the season should be to dump/trade the Packers D, ride the Texans all season long and grab a matchup play during their bye week. The Texan's were a top defense last year and half of their guys missed significant time. They'll all be back this year, and I can't imagine they won't be even better..much better than the Packers will be, especially given their respective schedules.

Santana Moss...I have a strong feeling he wasn't the best WR available, just the most familiar name you could find. Moss's days as a productive fantasy WR are behind him. He's behind Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan on his own team, and really has no place on a fantasy roster.

Very solid Kicker in Blair Walsh, you should have no complaints there, and Fred Davis, if your really lucky, might even be your starting TE most weeks.

Overall I'd give this team a C. You have some work to do, especially at WR. You do have a pretty strong trade chip at QB though, shop one or both of those guys around, see if you can't snag a better WR1, even if you have to include Welker or Hilton. But, like i said, your first order of business should be to drop/trade the Packers. given that your team is thin at a skill position like WR, you can't afford the luxury of carrying two defenses other than the one week where you'll need to. You'll be competitive most weeks, maybe even make the playoffs, but as your team stands now, I don't see it as a contender. But keep working it, championships are not often won on draft day, although sometimes, they can be lost!

it might give some newbie some insight on how to draft. And why you picked that way.

So does this mean hat you're a newbie? If so, it shows in your draft. If you're not, sorry. I think Treff did an excellent job at critiquing your selections, and you should strongly follow some of his trade advice!

On the positive side, if you drafted the players that you personally wanted, then you should have fun watching this all play out this season. That is part of FF, drafting the players you want. You'll learn a lot (good and bad).

The negatives - I echo Treff on Wilson. Too early to get your 2nd QB. Plus you drafted 2 relatively unproven QB's. Both have tons of upside. But that doesn't always translate as expected. It may have been better to balance one of these picks with a dependable, proven veteran QB.

Personally I'm not high on Welker either. (Not as my WR1.) He went from being a main target to a Broncos team that will spread the ball around. Welker lands into a different system, and Manning has younger, faster and bigger targets to throw to. You should expect less from him (compared to last year's numbers).

Call it a pet peeve, but you called James Jones your sleeper. He was your 5th pick. If you're still picking your starting roster, he's not a sleeper - he's your franchise. Good pick, but hardly a sleeper.

Have fun.

Who you draft might have a down year then projected.

I found that in all fantasy sports that the team you draft won't have the same players at the end as too win you must get rid of dead weight and pick up the players that are hot rookies or a vet that is rebounding from a bad year prior.

RB should always be the 1st pick with the 2nd grabbing a top ten QB is usually my plan in drafting.

Pretty much agree with Treff. Unless Kaps blows the roof off, the third was too early for Kaps, and Wilson in the sixth is the proof. With QB as deep as it is, you'll even have trouble trading one of them, so you'll probably end up with some valuable points sitting on your bench.

The part of your starting lineup that looks above average is SJAX at RB2. My guess is you'll be competitive, but not much more.

I don't think I did that bad. I really enjoy the input from you all,

But I'm still going with my starting 9

QB KAP
RB FORTE
RB JaX
WR WELKER ( Are you kidding me Welker not be a # 1 WR he has PM throwing the dang ball, and on top of that. Decker and Thomas on the outside. all 3 of these WR will get over 100 targets)
WR HILTON ( He had 50 reception his Rookie year and 7 TD's)
WR JONES ( Jennings and Driver are gone Jordy and Jones will get close to 90 Reception this year Easy). I basically based my draft on Touches & Targets is it bad No, just my thinking)
TE OWENS
K WALSh
DEF TEXAS

I think my WR are pretty dang good receivers. But who knows Maybe try a Moss for Boldin trade? I wont give up Russell No way, he kicked it in the ass last year. I had him last year picked him up around the 4th week into the year. Won my league Although Alfred Morris tore it up for me to. And this is not a PPR league its a standard league ya know (1) point for every 10 yards Received or Rushed. (6) points for TD's. 1 point for every 25 yards passed and so on........Oh and alot of this had to do with Byes and so on to. I tried to avoid having my starters have the same bye week. I thought last year was tough but this year is even worse I think. I like to factor all this in my FF picks It helps me out. I really don't need to scramble to the waiver boards a lot to find reserves. But I'm always looking at who has a hot hand. Rookies are fun to watch I think

He is a sleeper to me because of Cobb and Nelson

What are your league's lineup rules? What I mean is, how is your weekly team formatted in terms of how many QB/RB/TE/Flex spots you start. I've been in a league where we start 2 QBs in a week, and if that's your league's case, I get the two early QB picks.

I want Forte to be healthy so badly. He is damn good when he is, and it sounds like the Bears want to use him more in the passing game this year (PPR+!), but damn will he break your heart. I'm assuming someone already drafted him, but if not pick up Mike Bush.

Love the T.Y. Hilton pick. I think he could definitely blow up this year. Reggie Wayne has to decline at some point, and Hilton showed a lot of HR potential.

2 defenses?

I think Fred Davis could be a good last round get, but I have a feeling Santana Moss will finish the season on your waiver wire. Of course, WR is the best position for seeing nobodies turn into studs out of the blue.

It's a raised eyebrow, as in that is my response to you asking where Knile Davis got drafted, as I haven't seen a single mock with him getting drafted.
