With his 3rd championship ring, D-Wade has cemented his legacy as a better shooting guard than Kobe Bryant. Better scorer, better rebounder, better passer, better defender, better teammate. Congratulations, D-Wade! (you'll never catch MJ though) :suds: Word.

Stop. Just stop. Now is not the time for that. Wade was absolutely miserable for the majority of the playoffs and almost cost the Heat a chance to win the Finals.

Dwayne Wade was -58 for the series. Wade, along with Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem were the only Heat players to have a negative +- in game 7.

Now, if he gets healthy and starts playing like himself in route to another title or 2, then you may have an argument.

Without question, Lebron has surpassed Kobe.

Not sure about Wade. He seems to a shell of his former self due to injuries.

Dwayne Wade has definitely surpassed Kobe. In fact, Kobe is DONE. Washed. You just don't come back 100% from a severe Achilles at his age. Wade is his dad. I suspect Wade may win another couple titles with Miami before he hangs them up. No doubt Pat Riley is scheming to get a legit big. Word.

RedRum, anybody who thinks Kobe is better all-time than Wade needs to take Jack's place as your avatar. Word.

Interesting thought. I think you may be right. Replace Kobe with Wade on those Laker teams and how many rings do they get then?

No really. Not trying to dog Kobe but consider my question. I think they would have been a much better duo.

well, guess it all depends on whether he would've gotten along with Shaq any better than Kobe did. as far as numbers at the same point in their career i don't have that available(though stats don't tell the whole story). lol was never a google guy...

I guess the circumstances were a little different when he and Wade played and won the ring together. Shaq had grown up a bit more. I think Wade would have adjusted to Shaq with no problem. He set the precedent by conceding to Lebron.

What Dwayne Wade are you talking about? The guy from 2011 and before, or the guy we see now?

Wade is 3 years younger and has been in the league 7 fewer seasons, yet he is already showing signs of breaking down. LeBron carried him this year.

Wade would need to return to an elite level of play for a few more years to make this a conversation.

If you are saying that Wade will be better next year, or that he is better today, then maybe you are right. If you are talking about legacy, then this isn't close. Wade did little to add to his legacy this year.

I'll let WADE himself tell you :

NBA News: Dwyane Wade Says Kobe Is Greatest Player In His Era

By Daniel Buerge - February 15, 2013

Dwyane Wade has been playing with LeBron James for two and a half seasons now, and has been to the NBA Finals two years in a row with James. This season, LeBron is having one of the most impressive seasons in NBA history, and looks to be well on his way to his fourth Most Valuable Player award.
—- See Kobe Bryant through the years in photos! —-
But at All-Star media day, Wade said it was Kobe Bryant, not James, who is the greatest player of his era.
“When you look back at this era there’s going to be a lot of players that you can pick from. You can talk about their greatness. This is a good era for basketball, and it would be led by Kobe Bryant – who was the greatest player in our era.”

I disagree. What would he have looked like saying himself when Kobe has 5 rings? That was a PC answer if I ever heard one.

Kobe was second fiddle for 3 rings and lead dog for 2. Wade was lead dog for 1 and second fiddle for 2. Advantage still Kobe, although I don't think career wise Lebron is as good as Kobe yet. One more title though (seems inevitable) and I think Lebron surpasses Kobe and becomes one of the ten greatest.

Your claims, so I'll just answer: (I am not counting Kobe's first 2 years, where he barely played and averaged 7pts/game, starting only 1 game his second year).

Scorer - Reg Season - Kobe 27.8/game; Wade 24.7/game
Playoffs - Kobe 28.2/game; Wade 23.7/game
Allstar - Kobe 20.0/game; Wade 18.0/game
Scoring Titles - Kobe 3/2; Wade 1/0

** Anyone who would say Wade wins in scoring just looks foolish.

Rebounder - Reg Season - Kobe 5.7/game; Wade 5.1/game
Playoffs - Kobe 5.6/game; Wade 5.5/game
Allstar - Kobe 4.9/game; Wade 4.0/game

** Again - foolish. Kobe wins here.

Passer - Reg Season - Kobe 5.2/game; Wade 6.1/game
Playoffs - Kobe 4.8/game; Wade 5.2/game
Allstar - Kobe 4.5/game; Wade 5.0/game

** Ok you got me there. I will agree that Wade averages 0.6 more assists than Kobe.

Defender (Steals and Blocks combined) - Reg Season - Kobe 2.3/game; Wade 2.8/game
Playoffs - Kobe 2.3/game; Wade 2.8/game
Allstar - Kobe 3.0/game; Wade 3.2/game
First team All Defense - Kobe 11; Wade 2

** Stats are too close. Tiebreaker: 11 beats 2. Kobe wins again.

MVP's - Kobe 1; Wade 0

** Kobe wins again.

Championships - Kobe 5; Wade 3

** 5 is better than 3 I think. Kobe wins again.

So out of all that you have the fact that Wade can average less than 1 assist more than Kobe. THAT'S IT.:lame::bullshit::lol:

Well, its possible that Shaq would have stayed a Laker and I guarantee you a threesome of Shaq, Wade, Payton would've won in 2004. After all, they won it all together in 2006. So instead of a 3-peat, they would've won four consecutive. Think about it. Word.
