Record in May?

We forgot to do this for April, how do we think they will do in May?

I say 15-13, lots of tough teams, including the now possibly good (?) Rockies.

This is a tough month. I will go with 14-14. The Philles are the only series I see as half-way easy, and they ain't that easy.

I'll take 17-11, just because nobody else has yet, and it looks good.

Pitchers are reverting to the mean (good!), as are the hitters (better!). I think the emergence of the West will instill a sense of urgency in us.

We know how to win, and we will start doing it.

Better now than August, but it would be nice to beat some playoff teams early. Luckily, the inverse record is just as plausible this month. Thank you for playing your pessimist card in May. It will not be returned to you until mid-September at the earliest.

This is more where I see the record falling this month when I look specifically at the schedule/series'. However, my gut tells me we will win 15 or 16, even though I cant find those extra wins in the schedule.

So I am going optimistic when trying to look at it objectively, but pessimistic when I factor in gut-feelings.

I was surprised I had one with me, too, especially with 18 home games. Even then, 13-15 isn't terrible. My prediction is fueled on relying on wildcards, Timmy and Zeets, to pick up the slack for the usually reliable Cain and Vogelsong.

I will concede that other teams are starting off faster than this squad. A two game interleague series squeezed in there is just plain stupid.

Unfortunately, his last post on the Hoop was him going off on Hammer on the MLB main board. I fear he decided that he didn't want to support a guy he doesn't like.

Pretty petty, if that is the case. How much money does Hammer make from each of us individually? A couple bucks a year, maybe?

At least Filo let us know when he left and invited us along with him, and we all know where he is...
