Wilbon said something about the Bucks might move there?
Funny how when Bennett wanted to move the Sonics back in 2008 that whole process was streamlined, but now when Hansen tries to move the Kings to Seattle, the whole mess gets bogged down and there's delays and delays, just long enough to get a deal done, which frankly, still doesn't even compare to the deal Seattle has had in place for months now.
I'm glad for the fans of the Kings I really am. I lived in Seattle when the Sonics were stolen, so although I don't watch the NBA, I saw how devastated some of the die hards were. But Bennett and Stern can go fuck off.
Sacramento was able to mobilize a lot faster and stronger than Seattle was able to do, thanks in large part to seeing what happened in Seattle five years ago.
Stolen
The city tried to sue, but settled out of court. Money talks and money was one thing he supersonics were not making.
After year one in OKC Forbes magazine estimated a 12% net worth increase from $268 to $300 million (Money talks). In addition to that percentage of available ticket sales went from 78% in Seattle, to 100% in OKC (money talks).
Seattle didn't want to support their team and lost them as a result. The team wasn't stolen, it was a loser and sought greener pastures. Money talks and Seattle didn't want to shell it out. You want to blame Bennett and Stern but the reality is you need only blame the people of Seattle for not supporting there supposed "beloved" team and blame your city government for caving to a money settlement offer.
Can you imagine if there was free pot night for the Seattle StarBucks
I love revisionist history. No, I really do.Stolen

Wasn't the fans asking for a new arena. I liked/like the Key. It was that fucking stupid ass idiot owner who demanded it and the slimeball he sold the team to. Now Stern says the Key isn't good enough for them either. It was good enough in the early 2k's, but now it's garbage to them. And they want a new state of the art Basketball arena? Please. This city is so freaking spoiled they are blinded by it.
Seattle fan is the most spoiled fan in all of sports when speaking of arenas. I havent been to new Yankee stadium but to many other baseball parks while on business travel. Safeco is the best of the best. And then Qwest or whatever they call where the Seagulls play... Now with Husky stadium renovation.. Spoiled!

Read something recently about this. The Sac deal is the worse deal (I knew that going in) but what I didn't know is they agreed to NOT accept revenue sharing for a couple years. No wonder the owners approved it. The NBA gets a publicly financed arena and they don't have to split the revenue pot with them. That's bullshit. Especially considering during the lockout, one of the primary reasons given for it was the league needed more revenue sharing to be competitive IN MARKETS LIKE SACRAMENTO. So it just confirmed what I already believed. The Lockout was shady bullshit and this has a similar smell
I remember back on CBS when I had some spirited debates with people regarding the lockout. It was amazing how many people chose to see the issue as if they were the owners. It was also pretty sad how many of them believed the BS the owners claimed.Read something recently about this. Number one, the finance committee did not participate in that relocation vote....seven members of the committee voted, and sources indicate the vote was actually 4-3 against relocation, so Stern wanted unanimity and presented it as 7-0. This was before the offer by HBNW of an additional 75 million dollars. Number two, the league called for the meeting because according to the by-laws, the offer of a sale must be voted on within 120 days or the sale is validated, and May 21st will be 120 days since the PSA was signed by the Maloofs.
