King Felix dominant tonight, Blow Jays continue to flounder. What a mistake bringing Gibbons back to manage that team.

Kyle Seager and Mike Morse are All-Stars. Same with Iwakuma and King Felix.

I got my teaching evaluations today. I scored about average on all of the quantitative categories, but got largely glowing reviews in the comments section, and I agreed with all of the criticisms, which fall more on how the course is designed and how busy I was this semester academically than anything else.

I'm probably done teaching now, but I would love to go back to it next year and teach the same class (I got a comment "KEEP CHRIS!!!" as one of the "further comments," so that made me feel good) and get it completely right this time because I'll have the time to do so. Maybe I'll talk to my PI about it. It won't take too much away from my lab time, I don't think.

Carol Anderson, widow of former Tigers manager Sparky Anderson, died of natural causes Tuesday night at her home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Survived by two sons, Lee and Albert, and a daughter, Shirlee, plus numerous grandchildren, she was 79.

After a Hall of Fame career that included World Series championships with both the Tigers and Cincinnati Reds, Sparky Anderson died in 2010 at the age of 76.

He and Carol bought their house in Thousand Oaks in 1968 and she continued to live there after his death. They were married 57 years.

Is this still the baseball thread?

Ok, by now we know the umps blew the homerun call in the Oakland/Cleveland game last night and since the league has come out and said so.

Now in the Angels/Astros game, Houston puts a reliever in, Angels declare a pinch hitter, then Houston takes that pitcher out before ever throwing a pitch- totally against the rules unless the pitcher being replaced is injured or sick. Angels ended up protesting - this may be the first time in my life I've seen a successful protest.
