Oh, I know, top half of their lineup is fantastic right now.

Our pitching.. well, we got so many guys who are on-again off-again that it feels like we have a perpetual 12-man starting pitching staff. "Who's got the hot hand this week? Ok, bring him up from Norfolk, we'll start him a couple of turns and, if he struggles, we'll just pull the switcheroo with someone else from Norfolk."

When Chen comes back, who do you think they will send down? I think Hammel and Gonzalez are pretty safe and I'd like to keep Gausman up and just keep feeding him innings and experience, but who knows. Tillman and Garcia are hit and miss (though Garcia's last outing was outstanding). And then what happens when Bundy comes back? Do you bring him up if we're in a pennant race?

Just heard Danny Valencia refer to Ryan Flaherty as "Flash". First time I had heard that nickname.

I don't think it will be Tillman, he looked pretty good against the Astros last night.

True, but he'll probably get rung up for 8 runs in 4 innings his next time out. As I said in my post, both he and Garcia are hit and miss (Garcia when 3 innings w/ 6 earned runs tonight after 8 shutout innings his last time out).

Wada will be making his debut soon. I wonder if he will be a SP or RP?

I've brought up the idea on a couple of occasions this spring that the Philadelphia Phillies may be a popular shopping center for contending clubs come June and July. Left-hander Cliff Lee and closer Jonathan Papelbon could be among those discussed by GM Ruben Amaro. What about Chase Utley?

Utley's contract expires after this season and while I don't have privileged information on the future plans of either Utley or the Phillies, it's certainly not a slam dunk that they bring back the 34-year-old. Utley, who has battled back from three injury-marred seasons, has produced as usual in 2013. He;s also, as usual, been hurt.

Should the veteran get healthy and be made available, contenders that could show serious interest include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles. The Toronto Blue Jays also could be a fit if they jump back in the thick of things in the east, as could the Chicago White Sox, if they, too, get back on track.

From ESPN.

Why the FUCK would the Orioles bring in ANOTHER injury prone second baseman? Flaherty is a hell of a defensive fielder and since they brought him back up, his bat has been decent (not spectacular, but it's serviceable).

Any rumblings about Freddy Garcia after he got shelled in his last outing? I think he's safe for now.

It won't help his case when we get Chen and possibly Bundy back from the DL. Here's Garcia's last 7 games, pretty much shows this wasn't the first time he's been hit around.

That's easy, Flaherty plays good D but have you looked at his batting average lately ? He is so far below the Mendoza line that even a 1 for 5 night raises his average. The Birds should look at anybody to upgrade their roster. Just don't mortgage the future.

My only argument is that lately, since they brought him back up, he's been batting somewhat decent. Before they sent him down, his BA was sitting around .120 if I remember correctly and it's up to .170 the last I checked. That's a 50 point bump in a couple of weeks. He's no longer a guaranteed out.

I like Flaherty D but even at .170, we could use some offense from that position. I don't see any real help down on the farm so like it or not, he is our best option. I'm glad JJ Hardy has turned it around, just hope Flaherty can too.

Dont hold your breath, but BRob says he hopes to be back before the AS break.

Time to send Gausman down. He is clearly not ready.

I didn't catch the game but when I saw we'd lost 8-0 I knew it couldn't have been great. I agree with you.. while seeing big-league hitting is beneficial for him, we don't want to see his confidence shot with outings like this. He's had his little taste for now of major-league bats.. time to let him feast on minor league bats again.

Woke up too late for today's game, but I see the O's bats came out today. Sweep avoided... 10-7 win behind Tillman and TB's Matt Moore's 2nd straight loss (he falls to 8-2). We regain 3rd place in the AL East!

It'd be nice to get him back in the lineup. I'm taking over/under bets on the amount of games until he gets hurt again. Setting it at 15 games.

You guys got Freddy Garcia going tonight. Is he going to bounce back after that rough start?
