Tony Romo is in the spotlight because he has a chance to earn a trip to the playoffs on the last week of the season, a chance his team has missed several times in the past. If the 'Boys were 7-8 instead of 8-7, he would NOT be in the first half of Sportscenter.

If you'd asked me at the start of the year which QB was in the biggest spotlight and why, I'd have told you Andrew Luck, RG3, and Peyton Manning. The first because of going first overall and having to replace a star long runner QB like Manning, the second because of the ridiculous trade the Redskins made, and the third because he was a star coming back from major surgery. My fourth would have been Vick, but I'll disallow that for homerism.

And finally: "America's Team" is from a 1978 season highlight film. It's just a nickname. It doesn't mean America actually cares about them.

Yeah there are other topics every wk that are big news, but Cowboys, Jerrys World, and Romo are right there.

This is pretty false all the way around.

Look up the top rated games in terms of TV ratings this year......hell ALL TIME. You'll find out Dallas was in at least 6 of the top 10 games.

The NFL and every single advertiser knows one thing - The Dallas Cowboys on TV in any game is like printing money. NO franchise in NORTH AMERICA makes more money, gets higher ratings, and sells more merchandise than them - not even the Yankees.

The only sports franchise in the world more valuable is Man U. This is all verifiable fact.

EVERYONE cares about the Cowboys. You either love them, or hate them......but you WATCH them.

And Tony Romo is the most scrutinized QB in all of football bar none, it's not even a debate. People don't even look at his numbers - if he isn't winning a SB, he's a bum.....doesn't matter that his stats alone are HOF worthy, and that only 4 QBs in the last decade have put up more TDs, yards, or QB rating.

I hate the Cowboys. But what team doesnt like to go into Jerrys World when you know everyone is watching and beat the Cowboys.

Fans of division rivals of course are going to say this bc they are sick of Cowboys. You either love or hate the Cowboys. The media is everywhere around the Cowboys. If you were to poll every fanbase in the NFL and ask them who they would LOVE to beat in a meaningful game like the SB, I'd bet the farm the vast majority of them would have The Dallas Cowboys at the top or near the top of that list.

To nearly every fan in the league, Dallas is either a hero or a villain. There is really no middle ground. The fact they haven't won shit in decades yet STILL pull in the top ratings every year is telling no matter what you think about them.

The fact is that teams LOVE to beat Dallas......probably because of the whole "Americas Team" stuff that everyone seems to take personally as if Dallas gave themselves that name.

I will agree that we're most likely the most loved/hated team in the league.
