That's all well and good for television revenue, and I completely agree that the B10 will significantly boost both UMD and Rutgers (especially as both are flagship state universities). What really hurts me as a CFB fan is the destruction of regional and long-standing rivalries; not many will remain in the coming years and it's really a shame.

Oh I completely agree. In five years I probably won't follow college football. I know they've already lost some of the "old school" fans in my family.

I don't like all this superconference talks and an end to so many regional rivalries either, but no way would I ever stop following college football.....

I'm sure that Delaney knows this:

- if the super-conferences come about, Notre Dame will not have a choice but to join somewhere
- if Notre Dame EVER joins a major conference totally, it will probably be the B1G (regardless of what anyone says)
- at some point in the near future, the Big 12 will expand back to 12 (likely trying to grab FSU in the process)
- If FSU leaves (along with a small ding at losing Maryland), the ACC crumbles causing Notre Dame to "lose" their safety net
- loop back to point 1

They're not stupid .. Notre Dame is the prize. If they can't get Notre Dame to come willingly, someone is trying to give them a not-so-friendly nudge
